my skull candy headphones dont work

Ok--

1. Did you make sure you pushed the headphone plug all the way in, until you felt or heard it click? Sometimes these jacks can be pretty tight.
2. Do your Skull Candies work fine in other devices?
3. Have you tried other headphones on your Nexus 7?
4. Are those scratchy sounds simply distortions of what's actually playing, or are they just random scratchy sounds?

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand. Are you saying you can hear the scratchiness when watching YouTube videos both with your Skull Candies and also through the tablet's speakers? If that's the case, then it doesn't sound like a headphone problem--it sounds like a problem with your tablet.

It seems u can hear it in other YouTube videos with and without the headphones

But what I'm asking is, are you saying that you can hear the scratchiness both when you're using your Skull Candies, and also when you unplug the headphones and just listen to the sound through the tablet's own speakers?

Ok ... still not sure if you're confirming that the scratchiness is coming from both the headphones and the tablet speaker, but if that's really the case, then it sounds like a problem with the tablet. I suggest bringing the tablet back to wherever you bought it, show them the problem, and ask for an exchange. If you bought your tablet directly from Google, call the number on this support page: https://support.google.com/nexus/7/?hl=en

You won't know unless you try. Just show them the problem. Their return policy is 14 days--have you owned it for longer than that?
