Navigation Voice Stops Working

While using the Navigation (Blue Arrow) the voice will talk to me awhile, then stops for no apparent reason. This happens on my wife's phone as well, but not a co-worker's. How do I get it to continue talking to me? It often stops at very critical times in my search for an address leaving me to have to look at the phone for guidance instead of listening.

Try going to Settings -> Language & Input

Make sure Voice Recognizer is Google
Click "Text to Speech Output", and make sure "Google text to Speech Engine" is selected

Uninstall and reinstall Google Maps updates!
