1) will it wipe my phone first?
2) i.e. will it delete all my files in my drive?
3) will it delete all my save games (not the Google play store online saves but saves that are local only?

They are all pretty much the same question but the last time I asked I never got a straight answer. Thanks!

When you get security updates , the phone downloads the update then phone reboots and everything remain the same right, So this is the same thing . You just to get use to where everything is on Pie as its different from Oreo and enable some stuff that are automatically off .

No, it doesn't erase anything.

I'm looking forward to it. Note 9 with Verizon so I think I'm one of the last to get it in the lineup.

Hopefully all positive or just looks. I'm actually fine with Oreo and Experience. Coming from 10 years of apple the Note 9 is refreshing, even if the Samsung Vets scream for updates quicker...I'm still enjoying it as is.

I also enjoyed Oreo and Experience. I have been running Pie and OneUI for a while now.

I miss Oreo and Experience

Hmmmm maybe I should look up some YouTube videos on the negatives of switching.

Only seen positive videos so far.

I think that most people do like it, but it just doesn't work as well for me. I'm guessing that those are the same people who encouraged the things that I don't like about the S10

I backed up to Samsung Cloud just in case prior to updating to Pie. I didn't lose anything in any app.

It will work exactly like your phone did the day before the update. I loaded Pie and didn't even have the bluetooth issues some people reported, my TicWatch and 2009 Ford Edge work as if nothing changed.

There are no real negatives. Some things are a little different and ppl aren't good with change. I'm enjoying the better battery life probably the most.

When I got my AT&T Update, I was totally shocked! I thought it didn't work - when the phone re-booted when it was done, my wallpaper was there, all my apps were there, my desktop settings were unchanged? It was as if the OS didn't load... only thing missing was my clock/weather widget. The Icons were also different. I opened "Settings" and checked "About"... sure enough - Android 9.0! All I had to do was re-install my clock/weather widget and I was good!

That's a matter of opinion. True, some things are a little different, but there is at least one person on the forum who has already reverted to Oreo.

For me to it has broken some features, rendered others useless, and implemented changes that should have been made optional.

Better security.

You may have an app that needs to be reinstalled or updated to better work with Pie.
Even good tested apps as Pie gets more widely used will get tweaks bug fixes and improvements
Device Care just got an update too, old Device Management. and also SD Maid Pro.

Anytime someone worries about losing data, photos, games, there should be multiple types of backups, Google or OneDrive or Samsung cloud, PC, SD card, external SD,
Assume worse and hope for best.
