Question Need help, not receiving software updates in new s24 plus phone

So I am going to revive this thread. @mustang7757 Are you still active here?

So here is my issue. I live in Pakistan and we get these leftover USA imports. I got myself an S24+ from the lot which is CPID active. If you are not aware of CPID here is the explainer. "A CPID (Client Process ID) phone is a phone that has had its IMEI number changed using server-based software. This technique is used to unlock the phone's IMEI and allow it to work on other networks." CPID phones are normally sold here although illegal they bypass the local taxes that should be illegal to start with. A $1000 brand-new phone will require a $600 unlock tax and an imported S24+ that I got for around $500 still requires $500 tax to be paid. This is another debate.

Now to the problem. This phone seems to have S23 Ultra GCF service provider software version. Screenshots attached. Therefore I am not getting updates on the phone. Last security patch level is November 2024. I am comfortable with using odin and flashing no problems there. I just need direction on:
  1. What firmware should I flash? U1 or anything else?
  2. Which CSC
  3. Would flashing interfere with CPID unlock?
If you have posted the answer before, I apologize, I will go through the thread again. If not, kindly tell me what could be done. Thanks.

P.S There is no return of the phone and sorts. Thanks.
Welcome to AC!

I would flash to the U1 firmware especially being in another country as for changing IMEI to work with other carriers we cannot discuss that here in the forums and I'm not aware if flashing would do anything in that regards

You'll need the latest U1 firmware from sam mobile, samfirm or frija firmware tool and download, you will also need the latest Odin Patch B (Prince Comsey) from XDA website and extract the firmware and Odin on your computer then we can go from there.

This is the steps :

Windows computer needed

Latest Odin can Google it from XDA Forums and download the latest should be Odin 3.14.1 / and Frija tool or samfirm (i usually download both)

Download samfirm v0.4.1 tool and frija, extract it with 7zip.

You will extract files for Odin prince comsey 3.14.1once download with 7zip and will do same for firmware with 7zip .

Put your model number then region and select check for updates , then download the FIRMWARE , extract the FIRMWARE with 7zip.

There will be 4 files after you extract the firmware

BL

AP

CP

CSC

Each of those files will go in Odin when you open to the corresponding slots

BL

AP

CP

Home slot don't put anything

CSC USE HOME CSC FIILE TO SAVE DATA /THIS ONLY GOING BETWEEN CARRIER FIRMWARE OR IF YOUR ON UNLOCKED GOING BETWEEN UNLOCKED FIRMWARE

connect your phone with cable to computer , once the files are in its slots hit start, once done you'll see pass in Odin and it will reboot

*Make sure you put phone in download mode
*If dont see your phone connected in Odin change cables or ports in computer .
*Never disconnect the cable in middle of flashing.
Thank you very much man, you're a life saver.

Just one thing I noticed is that my mobile network no longer has access to 5g/4g and is just stuck on LTE+. I don't think it really have any serious effects because the internet speed is still comparable to when it was 5g. Or could this just be some form of display issues?

Thank you once again.

Hi @mustang7757
I'm not receiving updates on my S21 ultra but I'm not sure if I'm having the same issue as the other ones you've addressed. If there a way to confirm if the CSC is what is causing that?

I've moved your post to its own thread in the S21 forum.

What exact model number do you have, and what carrier do you use?

And for carrier, I'm assuming it's internet service provider. I'm from Nigeria and use MTN.

Welcome to AC!

You have the same issue as the other poster bringing a US device in another country?

I think so. I am not receiving any updates at all. The last security update was in January 2024,
I really don't understand all these CSC that have been mentioned 101 times in this thread. Is that the method to fix it?
