Need help reinstalling OS, I think

Ok let me know
Local place (Batteries + Bulbs) can't do anything unless the device is unlocked, or needs components

Samsung would factory reset the device before working on it

I tried manually booting to safe mode (Power + Volume down), didn't boot

I tried unplugging everything but the battery from the board (I opened it up), didn't boot

In the Rescue Menu, it gave the option to delete app configuration data and attempt a safe boot mode, so I tried that and it worked. All my apps were gone, but thankfully all my files were still on the phone. I copied them to an SD card and am transferring them to my new phone. Samsung also has their own cloud backup, which saved my contacts, sms chats, and a few other minor things. Samsung also converted my rcs chats into sms, so I still have all the messages, just no rcs features for them. Unfortunately Samsung doesn't backup user preferences so I have to tweak about 100 little settings, but that's much preferred to losing all my data. I should also mention, smart switch doesn't work in safe mode, so I couldn't just copy everything that way.

So, should another person encounter the error I did, this is what I tried and failed:
Re-flashing firmware via Odin
Clearing cache
Optimizing apps
Wondershare/Dr.Phone (couldn't connect)
Chimera (paid, I didn't want to pay)
Octoplus Suite (paid, I didn't want to pay)
ReiBoot (paid, I didn't want to pay)
Smartswitch via android (couldn't connect)
Smartswitch via pc (couldn't connect)
Unplugging the battery
Disconnecting every non-essential part

What did work:
Reset app config data

I would recommend anyone in a similar boat try as many of these as possible before the last one, as many others have lost data doing it.
