From what I have seen people have had better success with this. I can explain another way if this doesn't work, but this is much easier

Anyone know how i can update my! "Adb server" so i dont get that message again? Thanks

Usually if it says adb is out of date it means that the previous instance you were running didn't close. Just type this in the command prompt adb kill-server

so as an example if you let it install to the default location it would be

C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>adb shell then next line simply adb kill-server

To check for an adb update go to android file>android-sdk and open sdk manager. Top two I believe are adb. if the right column says installed you're good. If it says update then it will allow you to install updates from there
