Need new sim for Amaze 4G?

I posted this in XDA, but thought I would spread it out to see the real reason. WireFly did an unboxing, and there is a plastic cover over the screen, and if you pause it at the 2 min mark, it says you need to use the sim that came in the box because your old sim won't work with all the features. Anyone know what's up? Here are the links:

I was able to put my existing SIM in without issue.

It seems "all features" means Wi-Fi calling. Some who received theirs early use their old sim, and that seems to be the only thing not working.

All the training material we received at work indicated that the new sim card would be needed in order to utilize that wifi calling feature.

I used the new SIM in the box with the Amaze and the WiFi is stil not working?
