Well, here it goes again. Factory reset.... still no response from microphone or anything else.

It took my phone about 15 min to update everything. But I'm on all the updated versions.

What version firmware on the pioneer? I'm using 1.03

I should also be on 1.03 unless that all gets reset when you disconnect the battery. I really think the issue stems from Google Now. That's the app that gives you the Hangouts notifications and the voice search.

I don't use hangouts. Maybe try deleting that?

I just noticed that you said you were on Android 5.0.1.
I am still on 5.0, build BOC4 for the Verizon S5. If I factory reset, that is where I get sent back to.

Which version are the S5 users that have working AA using?

That might be the problem but it shouldn't. AA is supposed to work with any lollipop.

Hmmmm if you were in san diego, I would just plug my phone into your setup and see why its not working. There isn't any reason it shouldn't.

Well when it works, you will love it. I use it everytime I drive now

i know we have gone over this a million times, but let me review... i am on
Android version - 5.0.1
Android Auto was updated to version 1.0.3 from an SD card via pioneers website.

my "about Phone" screen looks the same as you'r except for the
SE for Android status

mine reads

I am not even sure what that means, but i see you have 5.0.1_0013 with a May 11 update time.

What is that? and could that have anything to do with the issue?

IT WORKED!! Updating security solved the issues.

HAHAHA Sweet!!! i helped someone without even knowing it.

Yea i usually do not update security because i thought it was the verizon security program that charges you monthly. But lately i have been upadting everything no matter what just to get AA to work.

Thank you Jpsoccer, Chamorro and Dr Claw. I've been following along with your posts and I think my AA will work as I was having the same issues as JP but I'm fully updated so I hope my AA works correctly now. I won't be able to test it until next Monday night.

When I connect my phone by bluetooth in the "standard way," I can do phone calls and music on the Pioneer head unit apps by pressing buttons on the head unit. (This is much like many rental cars I have used.)
It also does the same when connected by usb.
When on Android Auto per my post above, I get the limited apps on Android Auto and can use the microphone commands, etc. Just need to touch the mike button before speaking.
