advice for next time.

google "install rom to optimus v" and you will get results from these very forums, leading to posts and How-Tos that tell you to AVOID ROM MANAGER AT ALL COSTS

now, since you didnt avoid rom manager, and ran right into it like a brick wall. heres what you do.

go here.

https://github.com/inferiorhumanorgans/android_device_lge_thunderc/wiki/Binary

look in the optimus V section, download BACKside IHO by Jerryscript. click on the date, it will lead you to the download.

now download this.

goo-inside.me - gapps downloads

click the link that says 20110828 Universal (Link) its the blue bar thats next to Cyanogenmod 7

now put both those files on your phones microSD card.

go into recovery (GOOD NEWS) you can actually use the recovery, so you likely have an older screen OV. I think the recovery that Rom Manager installs is the one for old OVs.

in recovery, volume buttons move up and down, and the camera button is the "enter" key, the back button works as normal

go into recovery, wipe system, cache, and then go into advanced and wipe "dalvik cache" and for good measure wipe each one once more.

now choose "install zip from sd card" and select the backside rom you downloaded. once its done, do NOT click the reboot option that will be highlighted, just go back to install zip and choose the gapps file.

now when you reboot you will be in CM7.

none of your apps will be there and youll need to sign into all your accounts again, its like a fresh start. any pictures you have on the SD card will still be there though.

with what you did, there is no way to recovery any apps or accounts. you need to start over.

if you did it RIGHT, you could have backed up the entire stock rom as is if you didnt like cm7, but now your kinda screwed outta that option.

now, for the future, after you get cm7 installed. you want THIS recovery

http://www.mediafire.com/?vzc5k8taj9smmll

it is similar to the one you have now, but fixed. the one you have now wont allow you to make nandroid backups, they are broken and dont restore. this recovery fixes that.

the How-To for flashing this is in the forums somewhere, just look. you have the file thats the most important part.

Nice in depth response! I've narrowed my responses for this situation to "read the stickies noob"

if the poster of a help thread is a "new member" and has only 1 post, and your reading it, its likely they only thought to join the forum AFTER messing up the phone. in which case whoever gets there first should help the most.

I'm usually the first to be a jerk to people who make dumb mistakes, but mostly if it looks like theyve been on the forums awhile, read a lot, and made that dumb mistake anyways

What we need is some warning to flash on the screen as soon as someone goes onto the optimus v section of AC: "READ AND ASK BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING, AND TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM CLOCKWORK ROM MANAGER!!" ;)

Well thanks for the help, but the thing is that it will not let me access anything i got all the stuff u said. The phone is stuck, it allows me to scroll but nut not enter anything aside being stuck in recovery mode. It doesn't even show up on my laptop when i plug it in. So again i appreciate the help so.......i guess i gotta get a new phone lol its all good trial and error. unless there's one more thing i can do if not then its coo.

Are you pushing the camera button to select? To access the phone on your computer you have to download the official LG drivers from here
http://forums.androidcentral.com/op...-how-simplified-root-recovery-custom-rom.html

Its an awesome thread for newbies

your not stuck.

maybe you have the old recovery, either the Camera key (the lowest key on the right side of the phone) or the Menu key are the "enter" key to select items.

oh, the home key and the search key will make the screen turn black, pressing them one more time brings everything back, so if you see that happen dont be frightened, its normal.

Good looking out to all. Now any suggestions on the ROMS for this type of phone? Again i really appreciate all the help.

GOD BLESS

any IHO rom should be good.

I linked to them in the first reply I think.

if you downloaded and installed jerryscripts rom, you probably are already running one of the best cm7 roms.

if you want more of a stock gingerbread rom try harmonia, but it still has CM7 stuff in it.

bobzhome might be a good rom too, its a little newer.

they dont update these roms for no reason, the newer ones usually contain small bug fixes and small new features becuase they are synced with CM7 as it gets updated.

ok i downloaded bobzhome rom and when i rebooted it gets to the green android with the circling then stopped . i went into recovery tried wiping the dalvik cache as well as the system cache. then re installed it again and same thing advise plz

ok now i bobzhome downloaded b ut it stops at the green android after spinning for a min or two. i've wiped both the cache and the davlik then re did it an same thing.
