Needing to reboot my laggy S9+ 3+ times per day

Anyone else having lag issues with their S9+? I seem to be rebooting the phone 3-5 times per day under normal usage due to the phone freezing and lagging. I've Googled the problem a couple different ways and have seen zero hits on this particular issue. It gets so bad sometimes that it takes 20-30 seconds of holding down the power button just for the power settings to pop up to choose to reboot.

I have the usual apps installed (FB, Amazon, etc.). No sketchy installs of any sort. The only real advice I have read was to do a factory reset.

Any thoughts on why the phone would be acting this way? Tips?

I'd nuke it totally esp. now before the Pie update is out.

Force stopping an app along with clearing it's cache may work

FB us a huge resource hog.

Only when you do a factory reset resist the urge to restore. I'm not aware if safe boot will check and repair file system directory.

Clearing cache partition should though gave been tried. Along with uninstall and reinstalling apps. Uninstall leaves fragments behind so I rely on SD Maid Pro as well.

I came from a Blackberry KEYone, a VERY laggy phone by its very nature. In June I switched to my T-Mobile 9+ and have never experienced what you're experiencing. It's a very fast and responsive phone overall for everything I do.

I don't do Facetwitagram, though. In fact, I deleted the FB app--and yes, deleted it, not just disabled it. Thank you VERY much, T-Mobile, for not burning it in to the software permanently. So there's one difference.

But I agree, nuke and pave the thing and set it back up as you want it and see if the behavior changes. If it doesn't, you probably have a hardware fault.

If you have an SD card installed, remove that first for awhile to see what happens.

I'm having the same problem. I have to restart it everyday 2-3 times. I haven't found a solution anywhere.

Nuke and setup fresh clean. Then carefully gradually add and install apps.

Pie will be here and good time to get your house in order a deep clean

Device Maintenance should show text symbol and log what app crashes. Those would be ones to uninstall and wait and watch. But you do most likely have an issue with apps.
Factory reset will also erase and I sure file system is good.

Taking it for granted you tried wiping cache partition and safe boot. And it's fine in safe mode.

I'll echo the factory reset option. A fresh start should fix everything. Backup first.

these restarts and slowness are do to apps your running, I am runnign pie on my s9+ and its running fine, I have hardly any apps and would never put spyware like facebook and such on my phone

I'm inclined to agree with pulling the SD card out. There may be a corrupt file that is taking the performance down.

I did a factory reset on my phone last night around 8ish EST and haven't had to restart my phone once today. It's now 6pm. Apparently it worked.
