Network Problems?

I am only getting 1xRTT intermittently. No EV-DO at all. Verizon assured me it was not my phone, no ETR.

Same issue here in Houston, TX. Mine started this morning when I booted the phone up ('No connection' on FB, etc). It's been flipping from 1X to 3G (even 1X took a while to find). Note that I've had consistent 4G (4 bars) since I got the phone until this morning's issues.

Curious as to how people see their 4g signal strength using bars?

NJ having the same issues. was about to give vzw an ear full until i found this thread. my device did the same thing the morning after launch day, and i did call tech who advised they opened a ticket for me. Woke up today to the same issue stuck on 1x wont even cycle to 3/4g, full bars though. i wonder how my battery will do today, i just got that under control and changed my mind on returning the device.

Same here in Ewing, NJ... I tried a battery pull before going to this forum.. it goes 3g.. 1x.. nothing for a few min.. then 1x... nothing... repeat... UGH.. As much as I hated tmobile for slow data, it never went down.

Curious as to how people see their 4g signal strength using bars?

Sorry - I didn't realize the bars were only representative of voice signal strength. I am learning. To clarify, I am in the middle of a full 4G area and my speed tests seem to confirm strong signal. Also, this is the first time I've ever seen my phone show anything but 4G.

Late last night I could get nothing but 1x and mainly not even that however it seems fixed this morning but my 3g signal is weak at 0-2 bars. I am in north Texas and not in a 4g area but have the same issues as you all do.

There is no way the bars are only voice. My phone with always have 1-2 bars of 3g and when it loses it goes to full bars of voice and back to 1 3g and so on. I know the -dbm rating is voice only

my dad's thunderbolt is sitting right next to mine and has 4g data connected..and mine is struggling to keep a 1x connection...whats going on?

Was having the same problem in Boston this morning - only 3G connection, but now 4G appears to be back up and running. I have had constant 4G connection since last week everywhere around the Boston metro area.

St. Paul MN, cycling between no data, mostly 1X, sometimes kicks up to 3G and then drops all together.

Aaarrr!! So frustrated in D.C.. When I got up, I was at least getting steady 3g. Even though I had been getting only strong 4G at this location for a week, that was workable, Now, since I called Verizon and he said he tweaked some settings to try to get me connected back to 4G, I got NOTHING. No data at all -- with occasional notification bar flashes of 1X and 3G that don't hold.

Same issues in Jacksonvile, FL.

4G will flash, but will drop to 3G and 1X shortly after.

Device will also cycle between the two...very annoying!

Today is Thursday. Today is the day they are supposed to go to Tiered Pricing (according to rumor) Verizon will allow you to keep your unlimited data for 2 years if you want it, OR, you can sign up for their "platinum package" and get UNINTERRUPTED TIERED 4G DATA with no mundane service outages from now on... I'm kidding (I HOPE) of course, but I could see Verizon getting tricky.
