Well I am back on 3g solid but average 2 bars and the speeds are worse than 1x!!

Same thing in Rochester, NY. Called Tech Support. Did a battery pull, fixed it for a minute. Called back, did battery and sim card pull, not change. Tech support says no known issue, I tell him... guy, I am reading people all over the eastern US are reporting this issue, he was clueless and suggested a factory data reset. I hung up

I called a guy I know at my local VW store and he said he had trouble activating a TB today and there is definitely a sporadic outage. They are "updating" the network, according to him. FYI: my 4G came back a few minutes ago and is till okay. Guess it is just a waiting game...Meanwhile, my battery is toast today with all this switching...

I called a guy I know at my local VW store and he said he had trouble activated a TB to day...

Thanks, I will leave it plugged in, trying to activate state, and see when I get back from work today if it has activated.

At least I don't think it has anything to do with what I did

Still have 1X here in Cincinnati, OH. Called VZ tech support number and the recording said they are having higher than normal call volume. They must have a really severe outage. I have not found anything in the news. Usually when there is a big outage it makes the news.

talked with a level 2 tech for 2 hours...told me to go to the vzw store and have them replace the sim card......great... 3rd sim card here i come

Another for SE Michigan, was getting ready to call VZW....still might.
But at least it not just me...I was trying to remember if I messed with any settings....but couldn't remember if I changed anything.
And it's affecting my battery...trying to find 3 or 4G. It's going down much faster than normal.

This is very odd. St. Louis must be on an island in regards to the network or something. I'm not trying to brag, I literally am very dumbfounded by all of this. It's quite strange...

Whatever the problem is, it must be related to the Thunderbolt's SIM card because my Verizon Blackberry is still working just fine.

They said it was a 4G outage, so unless you have some super secret Verizon 4G BlackBerry, you wouldn't be affected. But again, I find it quite strange that I'm not having issues and haven't had any issue to date.
