It's pretty interesting how it keeps changing even though they aren't even selling them anymore.
I'm just glad we ordered when we did, and were able to score it at such a nice price.
I'm home for Christmas (well, home as in at my parents') and have had some spare time to do quite a bit of reading about the problems that people are having with this device.
I'm currently an AT&T subscriber, and I'm not sure I want to make the jump to Verizon with this device after the seemingly vast disappointment with the GN (I know not everyone is disappointed).
I feel that if I order one of these, I have a fairly decent chance of receiving a defective unit. On top of that, it sounds as if EVERY GN may be defective in the way of signal strength.
I think I am just going to be patient and see what else comes out in the coming months. If it turns out the GN isn't as bad as it seems to be (to me) at this point in time, maybe I will purchase one then (and probably for a lot cheaper). Seems to be a much safer and wise bet for me.

you are not alone. and i agree with your patient approach. im also on ATT off contract with an iP 3GS, so upgrades are on my mind as well. but i dont feel so good about VZW and would rather wait for possible ATT offerings.
either way i'm gonna need some real google integration eventually. this iP business has got to go since i dont even use macs or itunes (yes, i despise itunes so much that i just dont update anymore, but im also jb and well-tweaked).
So phone still hasn't shipped, and the status hasn't changed either. Still shipping date of 27-28th and Delivery 29-30th. Well today is the 27th and I was really hoping it would be on it's way. Especially with the amount of people that got their phones last week. And now amazon website says phone in stock ships in 24 hours...well where is my phone???

The fact that I have my sprint account active still can't be affecting the shipping time can it? I am porting my number over to verizon, but that shouldn't be affecting how soon I am getting the phone should it?
I plan on cancelling my sprint phone on Wednesday no matter what, trying to minimize downtime without a phone.

Website now says in stock even though you cannot purchase. I expect a shippment will be going out today for the folks with expected dates of 29th and 30th.

I called and they say that's an accident and a tech is changing the web page back to out of stock right now. They still have no stock & no idea when they'll get them in. I'm still waiting to order one. Didn't think they would be out of stock this long I hope they get em back in before the double data promo ends.
I believe the system auto updates as stock arrives. That being said these should ship out as quickly as they came in which will.out them back out of stock soon.
Others have lead times going through January. If you want the double data I think you'll have to find another place to buy the phone. I'm not positive but I think that promo ends at the end of the year.

Yup, it does. *edit (double data ending that is) I can't find anyplace else even close to that price though. So I'm probably going to loose out and have to wait. :-(

i know what you're feeling. i switched to vzw from sprint for this thing after purchasing on amz wireless. reading this forum while waiting for my phone got me scared. however after using it for several days now, i am thoroughly impressed with this phone. i haven't had any of the issues that have been expressed. no random shutdowns, no auto dials, sound is fine, notification lights work. i'm not crazy about the camera and the accelerometer auto-rotate is a bit slow, but it's still a good phone and much better than what i came from. anyway, good luck with your decision.

Hmm my buddy who is an assistant store manager for Verizon told me that double data was running through January 15th, although he did tell me that back when it first started.
So anyword on when the double data ends officially? Also do you have to have the phone ordered by a certain date to get the double data or does it need to be activated?
I'd love an answer to this as well. I clear 5 gigs of data a month on Sprint easily almost 100% of that being on 3G I need to know that I'll have 10 gigs a month on Verizon or otherwise moving is a bad idea.
I hope you're right about that date! I could have sworn it said it ended on the 1st but I don't see a date on Verizon's site anymore. That would at least give me more time to get one. Still kinda panicing about ordering one before that ends.
As of right now it is available for purchase again @ 189.00 for new accounts.
