New Ad pop-ups?!

Not sure when this started, but lately, if I'm trying to browse through the App, I get random Google Play Store Ads popping up for games or other apps. I thought as long as I was a registered member, I wouldn't get these kind of pop-ups and I would see less ads in the forums and blogs. When did that change, and is the only way for me not deal with this annoyance, is to pay for it in the App?

I'd like to bump this question... 6 months later and things got worse. Now every time I click an article an ad pops up. This is annoying to say the least. I could understand after a certain number of clicks (even though that was also annoying) by every article? I'd honestly rather pay a one time fee than be subjected to ads that frequently
