You can start by clicking on the "Rooting" tab above to learn more. If you want the new market and it hasnt been pushed to your device yet then you can just download the apk to to PC then put it on the root of your sd card and install it using either ASTRO or any other file explorer.

I installed this and lost the ability to show my installed application. It would only show 3 applications I installed which was done with this version. When I removed the update it showed all my installed applications. I have a Droid X.

When this happens all you have to do is go into
Setting>Applications>Manage Applications>Market>Clear Cache & Clear Data

After that reload Market>My Apps and everything should be in there

Are you rooted? If so just download the zip on your device and move it to your sd card with ASTRO or whatever file explorer you use then flash the new market in recovery.

If you are not rooted then download the apk and use ASTRO or the file explorer you use to install the new market apk

This is an old market. The latest market should have been pushed to your device already. Current market is 2.3.6
