new Gingerbread ruu 2.11. on xda

So I d/l and installed a few days ago and now I wish to return to Froyo because nothing seems to interest me with gingerbread until they get all the quirks figured out (No VM notification, battery life seems to be worse etc.) I have searched for a way to do this, but keep coming up empty handed. Has anyone seen a post that explains this or knows how? Any help is appreciated!:)

I don't think you can unless your rooted. But i'm not sure I could be wrong... Somebody here will help you. the guys in this forum are amazing.

You will have to root your phone. There is TONS of information on how to do it all over this board. If you really want to do it, that is your only option. You can't install older software on an unrooted phone.

I'm having the "Current Location" problem with my weather widget pretty bad on 2.11. The widget doesnt seem to update correctly either. Like it stays on the Sun long after it has gotten dark. Don't remember it being this bad on any other build I've tried. Other than that, it seems pretty good so far. Radio seems more stable and faster than the 2.10 radio.

How often does it refresh? Maybe it is still showing the sun because the last time it checked it was still daylight.

I have it set to refresh every hour like I always have. Just seems like it stayed more up-to-date in the past even with it only refreshing every hour.

Okay so I tried rooting through ADB, when I get to psneuter at the beginning, I get an error
I have followed directions exactly, so I dont understand whats going on except that GB is doing something to prevent me from doing something.

C:\TBroot>adb shell /data/local/psneuter
Failed to set prot mask (Inappropriate ioctl for device)

Any Idea what that means? And how can I fix this?

Thanks guys for the help!

I am very pleased with 2.11 with all but GPS. MR2 VERY quick to get signal and 2.11 back to 2 to 3 min to get signal. Anyone else experience this? I am a geocacher and this can be a pain.

Is there still a voice mail notification bug in this new version?

Very much so my friend...It failed to appear at all for me. Unlike the others where it may appear after a reboot or checking for voicemail and it appearing and not going away, this one was non existent on my device.

You still get missed call notifications and if you have your voicemail shortcut on a screen still it shows you have a voicemail. I know they need to fix the notifications but there are workarounds for those who want to try these RUUs out.
