Originally, I was going to hold out for the Bionic, but when that phone got delayed, delayed, delayed, I took another look at the Bolt. I came to these forums and read through the threads, discovering the positives and negatives of the phone. What I learned is that some people got a great phone that did everything they wanted and more while others got stuck with a lemon. (Kind of like the Charge, the Revolution, the Bionic, etc) Knowing this, I ordered one because Letstalk.com was offering it at a very low price. The way I looked at it, if I got it and it was a POS, I'd just return it and wait for something else to come out. As it turned out, mine has been pretty close to perfect. Yes, I wish the battery lasted longer, but I have never experienced any of the other issues that many others have: no reboots, no GPS problems, etc. This phone has worked great for me right out of the box, I still haven't rooted, and I'm glad I took the plunge. It does everything I could ask of it and more without any problems.
Now, I'm not stating all of this to rub it into the OP. I understand he's frustrated and pissed off, and if I was going through what he is, I can't say that I wouldn't have the same reaction. However, as others have pointed out before me, many of the issues were known within days after release, and a little research would have brought them to light.
I'm sure you've already done this, but are you sure that you have the most recent software update? My understanding is that the MR2 ota update addressed and fixed the random reboots and shoddy GPS locking. Other than that, the gingerbread update will hopefully be out sometime this millennium (I kid, maybe), and maybe that will have a positive impact on your phone. If you don't want to wait, utilize that early upgrade they offered you and wait for the Vigor, Prime, or Droid HD, which should all be good phones. Once again though, wait for others here to identify the problems before you buy so you know what you're getting yourself into.
Good luck.
