New here and NOT happy with VZW or Tbolt

The Problem with that logic is how quickly the problems may or may not arise and in dealing with "Customer NO Service" by the time you realise you have issues that are unresolvabe you are past your 14 days.

All the more reason to do your own research prior to purchase

It is a real shame that Verizon took away the 30 day trial ride on the phones. I sold wireless and that 30 days really was best. But people do take advantage and for that reason, they changed the policy to the original 14 days. It is too bad they can't give a new replacement for the first time a device is returned.
I think the Thunderbolt is still an awesome phone.

I agree 30 days would have made a difference here as I was still working with and assured by tech support that my issues would get resolved at 14days. It was at about 20 days that I got my first replacement. And yes if my phone stayed connected and didnt randomly reboot and numerous other things it would be an awesome phone. When it works right I love it. I will just harass Verizon until they do something for me. Untill then they will get to have me call daily.

Ive had my phone since 10 Aug. My wife and I both actually like the phone. Granted the noise cancellation doesnt work on hers and mine from time to time will act like its only half duplex. But if we ever get truly tired of it we know how to call VZW.

As for customer service, we havent really had an issue yet to test them. Although we did come from ATT and theirs leaves a lot to be desired save a few here and there. But it is like that with any big company. Its not just VZW or ATT. Its ALL. Reviews are done and posted for a reason. Anyone paying lots of money for something should take the time to read them. I failed to in the past and got bitten for it so now I review everything. Just my 2cents

That's BS! You bought the phone knowing these issues and your one of the people it hasn't affected. Great for you. The issues have affected me and it sucks.

Good. That's exactly what you should be doing. Give them h e double hockey sticks. They darn well should make you happy for your money.

Just don't think a replacement is going to fix anything. Its a software problem.

I have it on 3G and it has rebooted but my concerns are more. It won't connect to a call sometimes, I click on the call button and it won't recognize it. I have to power down and then once back on it will work. I am sure the replacement will take care of things. I have been with Verizon for a very long time, even before they were known as Verizon. They will work with you. But I think people should be treated with respect when you talk to them. It isn't the rep's fault if a device isn't working properly. They didn't make the phones.. They are just doing their job. You get more with sugar than you do with sour milk.......that old saying really is true. It disappoints me as a human being to have someone speak to me rudely. When I sold I had a man throw his phone at me and cuss me out because he dropped it in the toilet......ok....where is that my fault? He decided to take his frustration out on me. I worked for an indirect. I told him he had a choice. He could speak to me politely or he could leave. And we didn't have a tech support in the store. I found out he had insurance but he thought by having a rant he would be heard. I could hear him still if he had been polite. IT IS A PHONE not a near death situation.

Originally, I was going to hold out for the Bionic, but when that phone got delayed, delayed, delayed, I took another look at the Bolt. I came to these forums and read through the threads, discovering the positives and negatives of the phone. What I learned is that some people got a great phone that did everything they wanted and more while others got stuck with a lemon. (Kind of like the Charge, the Revolution, the Bionic, etc) Knowing this, I ordered one because Letstalk.com was offering it at a very low price. The way I looked at it, if I got it and it was a POS, I'd just return it and wait for something else to come out. As it turned out, mine has been pretty close to perfect. Yes, I wish the battery lasted longer, but I have never experienced any of the other issues that many others have: no reboots, no GPS problems, etc. This phone has worked great for me right out of the box, I still haven't rooted, and I'm glad I took the plunge. It does everything I could ask of it and more without any problems.

Now, I'm not stating all of this to rub it into the OP. I understand he's frustrated and pissed off, and if I was going through what he is, I can't say that I wouldn't have the same reaction. However, as others have pointed out before me, many of the issues were known within days after release, and a little research would have brought them to light.

I'm sure you've already done this, but are you sure that you have the most recent software update? My understanding is that the MR2 ota update addressed and fixed the random reboots and shoddy GPS locking. Other than that, the gingerbread update will hopefully be out sometime this millennium (I kid, maybe), and maybe that will have a positive impact on your phone. If you don't want to wait, utilize that early upgrade they offered you and wait for the Vigor, Prime, or Droid HD, which should all be good phones. Once again though, wait for others here to identify the problems before you buy so you know what you're getting yourself into.

Good luck.

I've never had any problems with this phone at all, but I only ran stock for about a day. I rooted and flashed newest radios and a custom ROM the day after I got it (which I've done with all the Android phones I've owned). I love my Thunderbolt and agree with most other posters here that you should just stop whining and go get an iPhone. You have options. If you refuse to explore them that's your problem. You'll find no sympathy here.

I've the same Bolt since launch.
I can't remember the last random reboot.
GPS locks within seconds.
Charge it once a day.

I did have these issues at one time but easily overcame them. 1gen items...

I only came by to see what other issues people had with this crap phone. I am on my third and none of them has ever worked correctly. I am not usually a person that agrees with lawsuits and such but when you pay for a phone with certain features and said phone NEVER lives up to said features AND the seller does not do anything to make it right then that is theft. My phone reboots, loses conectivity CONSTANTLY, GPS takes a week to find itself, and I'm probably things leaving out. OH and I'm lucky if I get 4 hrs out of it. I'm not sure how many of you have these issues but how WHY do we put up with it? I did have a good conversation with the rep this morning that offered me 100$ and an early upgrade. I'm greatful and its more than I thought I would get offered but its still wrong it shouldnt come out of my pocket at all to get a phone that works. Am I just a PRICK or am I right?

THanks for listening
IM DONE NOW.

You're absolutely right. I went through the same crap. The only thing that saved me from throwing this phone out the window was when I discovered root. Now my bolt works how it should the way HTC should've made it in the first place. Its sad that a bunch of guys in a house can make this phone work great and have the features it should have working great and HTC's engineers getting paid over a 100,000 a year can't get it right.

No problems for me. Then again I dont live under the dilusional cloud that things that are built on a mass scale will all work 100% for everyone. Some hardware issues will arise, and NOTHING is 100% perfect out of the box.

Not even the iPhone is perfect..close, but not perfect. Its seems that they are way behind the curve on alot of things because companies like HTC and Motorola and Google do things, which Apple slowly impliments 2 iPhones later, and people call it revolutionary lol.

Sell the phone on Ebay, use the money to get out of the ETF, and go elsewhere. I have had, in the past 4 years, Sprint, AT&T, Sprint again, and now Verizon. And coming to Verizon was the best decision I have made in those 4 years as far as service/phone wise.

You know what annoys me the most of all? When I call VZW or HTC and speak to a rep and describe some problem that is common enough to merit several threads is several droid forums and he says ..."we haven't had any complaints about that issue. Have you tried a factory reset? Let me tell you how...." What utter nonsense. I don't know if I'm more angry about wasting my time setting up everything all over again or reps so disingenuous or utterly ignorant that they "have never heard any complaints about that issue."

Despite all....including the fact that I fein' for a Bionic I'm not so unhappy that I would pay retail for one or switch to a provider with even worse coverage (all of them).

Ps. Everybody I know with iphone complains about weak signal and losing calls. Can they even send sms and mms yet?

Verizon iPhone users don't have the issues at&t has. I have a couple of friends who left at&t when Verizon got the iPhone. They are very happy

Call customer care. Ask to be transferred to Retention. Talk to Retention but be polite when you are talking to them. Losing your temper will just create more dissension. Be a mature adult .
I bet they help to resolve the issue.

The phone is fine for anyone who can look past its shortcomings. Thats why you have a 14 day return policy.

You test drive a car before you buy it, yes? Do you also say, hmmm, the horn doesn't work, the engine keeps dying, and the gas mileage is horrible, but I will take it and hope there are recalls?

Of course not.

I was just yankin' your chain. ;)

All the 4G phones on Verizon seem to be suffering the same sorts of issues with a certain percentage of folks. I'm pretty convinced that most (if not all) of the signal/network related problems are location dependent and problems with the system more than with the phone, or how the network interracts with the new chipsets. I suspect that depending on where you are using the phone, your experience is going to be similar no matter which device you have. These are almost certainly "teething" issues with the new network and the new devices designed for the new network and it will apply to all. Don't believe me? Go look at the forums for other LTE devices, such as the Bionic. There are Bionics owners who are also having network stability problems, random data loss, etc. too. Same with the Revolution and the Charge.

Yes, it is true that some devices will just be bad...it happens. But, if you've gone through three, four, five, or more devices and are still having the same problems, it's probably related to your location and/or new technology issues in how the device is working with the network and you will probably have similar issues with other models of phone. There are still bugs to be worked out that are not specific to the T-Bolt!

BTW, in over 20 years, I have never had to have a phone replaced due to hardware failure of any sort. A long, long time ago I returned one simply because I didn't like it though.
