New Nexus 4 purchase: Anyone get a shipping notification or tracking number?

Yeah My UPS has always been reliable for me when expecting packages from multiple companies. It often will give you info before the shipper even does.

I know that when I bought the Galaxy Nexus in July I wasn't even notified of shipment by Google (I hadn't signed up for My UPS then) until the day of delivery. I ordered and received no word for 3 days and I just got the package.

Those who already received the nexus 4... how are the network speeds with AT&T and T-mobile? Can we expect atleast 5mbps down and 3 up? or am i dreaming too much ?

so I ordered 2 things this week a coat and the nexus 4 and in both cases there were breakdowns in communication. With the nexus I still have yet to hear anything.

The coat I ordered over the phone from the Burberry store in NY NY.. they were the only ones that had it.. couldn't get it from the online store was out and so was every other store in the country. I didn't get an email for confirmation of purchase or shipping info. The girl I ordered from said I would get the confirmation email later in the day(Thursday) and the shipping email the next morning(Friday) when ups picked up the package. As with google i heard nothing from Burberry so I called today. spoke to a manager who said he would investigate what happened. With in 20 mins I got call back from him saying everything was good with the order and that he would email me the info I was missing. After that I got a call from the Store manager to make sure everything was sorted with the order. And with in the hour I got a call back from the girl who originally did the purchase to apologize despite the fact she isn't working this weekend.

That's customer service. This with google is ridiculous.

That's it! He must work in Customer Service! Sounds just like when I called and they told me not to worry, you should get your tracking number by the end of the day (Wednesday), then told me the same thing Thursday, and again Friday, and again today (Saturday). I might call again tomorrow just so I can hear that reassuring voice telling me, "Don't worry, I am sure you will get your tracking number no later than this evening!"

Idiots.
you know what they say. Fool me once...

Actually I am also thing on the same lines of going for the iPhone 5, It actually looks sexier than Nexus 4 and I will know when I will get it as soon as I order.

Ha ordered a few min before this guy Google rushes him his N4 .....2 of them!! so he can sell em on ebay. Great

Ok. This is ridiculous. Still no shipping confirmation from either Google or UPS MyChoice. Order still says "Pre-Order" on Google Play, and still says "Your order has been sent to Google" on Google Wallet. Absolutely nothing has changed since I ordered the dang thing.

Same here, except for the Pre-Order part

It's frustrating right? You can't even cancel the order via email. No response from e-mail's either!

Thanks a lot I feel much more reassure. Its awesome to have people like you stop in and help us out like this.

No problem. To solve this massive riddle about what I do for Google, I'm a software engineer, far from a CSR (they don't work for us, they are outsourced) who know less than the public does. As I get answers I post them, simple as that. Unfortunately there are few things about this launch failure that I do know, some of which I can't even post.

Alright, update from a guy less then 30 miles from Google who ordered two. Despite contacting support a number of times, like many others in this forum I've received nothing except for the original e-mail. However, the two Processing charges on my credit card have finally disappeared. I don't know if that was because there's an issue with my order or just that I believe a pending charge can't sit on your card for more than a few days without being cancelled by default. Even weirder, when I go into my play store account history, the two orders have moved from being listed as Order date November 13th, to November 17th... what the heck? But still with a shipping estimate of November 15th.

I haven't received a backorder e-mail, but in general this experience has been atrocious as many others have mentioned. CSRs giving completely different stories, obviously having no specific information about what's going on, no response from Google or updates, seemingly random deliveries. The card I used for the Nexus orders even was blocked ordering new apps. I called them about that, they sent me an e-mail saying they'd escalate it to a specialist, I received no updates, but then a very friendly survey asking me if my issue had been resolved satisfactorily.

I think someone really needs to take a good hard luck at how Google is handing their merchandise processes. They may be a giant services and search company, but they obviously are not ready for large scale merchandise sales. Despite the fact that I wish they could upend the tech device/mobile industry through their direct sales, with service like this I don't think that's happening any time soon.

Since mine shipped so late on Thursday, I won't get it until Monday. I am in Louisville, KY which is where its shipping from. Pretty dumb that it has to sit around at UPS all weekend.

those still waiting for info, all I can say is be patient. Shipping info from Google came well after from UPS.

Really, you're proving my point with every post.

Google absolutely owes the customer an explanation of what's going on. Even if as you say it's just a message to say sorry, we screwed up, we'll fix it. I don't see anything from Mountain View to that effect for those in limbo.

As for the assertion that Google never promised first come, first served, that is so incredibly arrogant I'm not sure how you typed that. Listen, Google has a good product that's popular. But that doesn't give them a license to give their customers the middle finger and say 'you're lucky we're sharing our awesomeness with you.' Customers will always have alternatives and eventually saying GFY to customers will have an effect. Eventually customers will say FY back.

This. It's the "definitely by tonight" .. by tomorrow. by wednesday... within 3weeks and with their track record, it will undoubtedly turn to ... within the month... It's this type of false promises, the arrogant lack of accountability that has people pissed off and frustrated. Having the person who ordered 20mins after yours get his first? WTF is that? Google just needs to come out and say, "look we are stacking the orders by location or whatever. We don't care if it screws all of you waiting in the queue but it cuts our shipping costs".

It's interesting, under Google Play my status says the same thing it did on Tuesday: Shipping estimate: November 16, 2012. However, the strange thing is that the date (aka order date) now says November 17th? WTF?

The last time I spoke to a CSR, it was Thursday evening - very late. I was told that my items (8g + bumper) were not back ordered. I just called and spoke to another CSR who told me (again) that my phone is not back ordered but that the tracking hasn't caught up and that I will definitely have my phone in hand on Monday or Tuesday. I am one of the limbo -early orderers/date changed to 17th/no emails received since the first confirmation- buyers. So, grain of salt. The only things I know for sure are that I have no back order email, no tracking information, no CSR will tell my that my order is back ordered, and I will be receiving Mouse Guard Volume 1: Fall 1152 from Amazon exactly on Tuesday as promised.

Hover over that date, it is the date when your order was last updated. Many of us got that today. No clue what was updated but I remain hopeful for early shipment next week.
