New Nexus 4 purchase: Anyone get a shipping notification or tracking number?

Google never said, order first receive first. You're still within 3-5 days for processing and 2 day shipping, so unwad them and calm down dude. It's a phone. I ordered my N7 a month before it was even announced at I/O 2012 and didn't get it until 3 weeks after it was on the shelf at gamestop.

When do you expect the backorders to ship?

They never did say order first receive first but they "should" have done it in the order received.. They DID say the phones would start shipping the same day they went on sale though.. which didn't happen. Order page says Delivered in 3-5 days

Actually, they did.

Either way champ, 5 business days from order would place your phone to you on Tuesday. That one extra day must be killing you.

Move on man...your just trolling now...we are venting if that is ok with you...and there is no reason for you who is not in our situation to come in here and tell us to relax....again move on..enjoy your phone on Monday...

Wow, a n00b troll calling a vet a troll. lmao.

This is BS how backorder people are left in the complete darkness while those in limbo pretend to play dumb until their phone arrives. NEWSFLASH LIMBO = GOOD. PHONE COMING.

I got backordered and mine is still showing as shipping estimate 15th. That is just cruel.

The screen is very nice. I had the Optimus G and the Lumia 920's screen is better when you compare them side-by-side but you wouldn't notice the difference if you weren't comparing them directly like that. The camera is fantastic. I love the UI concepts in Windows Phone and the consistency throughout the experience. It's just a shame there aren't more applications available for it. My biggest complaint is that there's no Swype... or third party keyboards of any kind. I originally got a Windows Phone last Spring during the "Smoked by Windows Phone" challenge. I had intended to force myself to use it for 30 days so I could familiarize myself with it before switching back to my MyTouch 4G. Well, that 30 days turned into 5 months because I really liked it. Eventually, I picked up the HTC One S but ended up leaving T-Mobile a little over a week ago because of their new data roaming caps. I got the Optimus G from AT&T but I HATE the crappy custom UI LG put on that thing. Today I exchanged it for the Lumia 920 and I will likely switch my SIM back and forth between this and the Nexus 4 depending on my mood. Heh.
I'm actually considering doing the same thing. The 920 for $99 is almost too good to pass on.

Some people who received the backorder email received a shipping email afterwards..

And your arrogance exemplifies that of Google perfectly. Congrats, you truly are a company man.

I am quite a company man, defending the truth from this BS some of you sling around like Google owes you something. The only thing they owe anyone (including myself) is a statement saying "we fubared it" and refunded shipping for those back-ordered, which the latter has already happened, the first, probably won't, which sucks.

A week from Monday in all honesty is when they should start going out.

Thanks.

And you know this how exactly?

That sounds just as bad as the responses the CSR's are giving...

Well Monday 26th is 13 days after the order date, that's almost two weeks. The backorder e-mail stated within 3 weeks. That makes the time frame 2-3 weeks. It's realistic. It's already almost Monday, so I think the most we're going to have to wait is really less than 2 weeks.

Google owes me an explanation as to why it is now 2 days after my estimated ship date of the 15th and I have not heard anything.... no back order email, no shipping email. I can't even get a response email from google support when I ask them for an update as my emails are completely ignored.

If my phone arrives on Monday.. I will be happy but it will be the 6th day since my order and that is outside of the 3-5 day delivery time frame

Actually Saturday and Sunday do not count, only business days. If your phone arrives on Weds then it will be the 6th day....

Really, you're proving my point with every post.

Google absolutely owes the customer an explanation of what's going on. Even if as you say it's just a message to say sorry, we screwed up, we'll fix it. I don't see anything from Mountain View to that effect for those in limbo.

As for the assertion that Google never promised first come, first served, that is so incredibly arrogant I'm not sure how you typed that. Listen, Google has a good product that's popular. But that doesn't give them a license to give their customers the middle finger and say 'you're lucky we're sharing our awesomeness with you.' Customers will always have alternatives and eventually saying GFY to customers will have an effect. Eventually customers will say FY back.

Employee for whom?

Google.

First, you do know what estimate means, right? Second the support emails are all automated. Third, Monday would only be 4 days, the day you ordered doesn't factor in.
Hearing nothing is where you wanna be, but i've said this all before in previous posts.

Yes Google did mess up the launch, but they didn't actually lie. They said 3-5 business days. If you have an order confirmation and didn't receive a backorder e-mail then you should get it by Tuesday. (Saturday and Sunday aren't business days). If they have to they might change the delivery to overnight (I've seen a few orders shipped last week that had overnight shipping). If you get it later than Tuesday then you have the right to complain and also free shipping.
