NEW (Official) EVO Froyo OTA update thread

Anyone know what the app is that they use to do the performance tests and fps tests? I'd like to run it and see if there are any differences.

I will have to wait to get the OTA because I, like many did the manual update.
On that topic, any one that manually updated get the OTA???

Not me, says I'm updated. Maybe HTC will fix us this week.

Yes. That's cool. I'm running Froyo, just not the LATEST version of Froyo. I'm good for the next however many days it takes them to "get back to us" ...

i thought i'd like the new numeric lock pad but i switched back to the old pattern lock.

got it!! took about 10 minutes from start to finish. had to reinstall Swype but other than that all is normal. phone does seem faster but while my wifi bars improved it still seems to be a bit flakey

okay... so here's the problem-

I just downloaded the .6 (ota, i never updated from the leak) and when i ensue to instal it, i get to the little android with a box and arrow, then about 1/3 of the status of that screen, i just end up at the Yellow exclamation mark with a white triangle around it...

I tried the battery pull for over a minute, i even resorted to factory resetting my phone since i had it rooted... anyone care to help me out here?

WOW can we say LAG when opening the SMS??

i just got a text and went to open it and it took easily 30 seconds to open, it just sat on a white screen...

Grabbed Linpack - I'm getting MFLOPS: 37.333 pretty consistently. The first run was slower, second run was 24.something, and now it keeps hitting 37.xxx consistently.

I'm going to go grab neocore and try it out.

Everyone, you HAVE to reset your sync settings and such, they have EVERYTHING set to auto sync, from stocks to flickr!

I'm by no means an Android expert, and I never rooted, but if I'm not mistaken, if you rooted your phone, this update won't work for you. Even if you did a factory reset, your phone is still rooted.

You need to wait for the developers to come up with a rooted rom of this new release and install that rom.

Again, I'm no expert, but this is the way I understand it.

Maybe someone else can verify?????
