NEW (Official) EVO Froyo OTA update thread

Anyone else having issues with the update hanging at the HTC EVO 4G screen? It asked to install I said yes, went to black and then appeared at this screen and sat there for literally an hour.

No, I just finished the update and ALL my contacts, mail accounts, mail, and settings (that I've looked at in the last 4 minutes) seem intact and fine.

The one thing I'm seeing broken right off is Swype. :-( Where do I get a new download of that?!

I believe just a simple uninstall and reinstall of Swype fixes that issue.

REALLY dumb question..I have read every post on this thread and currently my phone is installing the update.
There is lots of talk here about "rebooting" and "resetting"...are you just referring to removing and replacing the battery? Or is there something more to it? (In case I need to reboot or reset).

I just turned off and back on...no battery removal. Just be sure that the update has fully finished installing.

Is anyone having an issue using the stock internet browser? After the update when I go to Android Central or other sites it cuts out. Now with Dolphin I dont have a problem.

ya i get this alot..

i use ATK to kill the TONS of bloatware ALL RUNNING after this update and it will flash to a white screen with green letters saying HTC..

i get this on reboot as well.

I have never done an ota...Does any1 know if I have to have the 1.47 update installed b4 I can ota froyo?

camera won't open after update

Just installed the update. Non rooted evo.

When I launch the camera it shows the splash screen for one second and closes.

Rebooted. No change.

Any advice?

Does anyone else have to click the box to get flash to run using the Dolphin Brower? It works fine using the stock browser. Is there a setting for automatic load flash on Dolphin Browser?

THANK YOU! I had totally forgotten about that portion of the Swype process. At least I remembered my password! ;-P

So - as for the Froyo upgrade, I suppose we'll all report back tomorrow after our respective night and day of playing with it, eh? ;-)

Also, the market seems to be missing anything I've installed so far. The apps work, just no convenient list of what's been put on. No major biggie, just something.

Uninstall your LED flashlight app.
