New OTA impact thread - please report in

i finally got the update a while ago ive had 2 sense crashes and the first 2 times i rebooted i couldnt connect to 4g only 3g even if i changed the settings i had to use the lte on/off app to get 4g

I've tried everything mentioned in this thread and I still have signal issues. I'm on a PC because I can't get a response out on the phone....I can go to "wireless & networks" and watch 'mobile network' switch between "connected" to "turning on" It's like it constantly looses the radio.
Any further thoughts?

- Initial impressions: not much changed besides being able to toggle between LTE and CDMA only
- Reboots: never had any to begin with
- Reliable data connection: worse with the update. I haven't been able to stay on 3G for more than 5 minutes without it failing me.
- Battery life: no difference
- New features: it said there would be a tabbed app drawer but that never happened for my phone...?

No reboots since the update. Phone seems to jump down to 3G more often than in the past, but the connection is stronger. No effect on 4G connection. Battery life seems about the same. Quicker boot time (and much nicer boot screen). Haven't tested GPS yet.

Might have to do a factory reset

Transmitted through 4G via Thunderbolt

Storms took out my cable, OTA took my hotspot and half my battery life so no internet. Why did I download it????? Arghhhh. Oh but only 1 reboot since Fri eve.

Before Update:
- Have had phone since release day. No reboots
- Battery would go for 15+ hours and have 40% left by the time I plugged it in at midnight
- GPS issues corrected after installing GPS Status.
- Strong LTE signals

After Update
- Three reboots
- Battery is at 50% by 2pm and completely dead by 8pm
- GPS works intermittently
- LTE suddenly not as prevalent, seeing 3G for the first time.

I really am at a loss on what to do. The battery life went from amazing to absolutely awful. I've made sure to turn off the phone, pull the battery and SIM (have done that twice now, just to be safe) but that does nothing to help.

My phone has been the exact same. I didnt have issues, now I dont. Battery life slightly improved. Ive been on 4G all day. Texted a fair amount. Used Google reader, music a pretty decent amount. Browsed a bit. Sent a few emails and few alarms. Got 10 hours on a full charge. If they push out GB I can finally root and remove bloatware.

For those with battery issues you night want tocheck your display brightness. The update put mine back to 100%

No reboots lately, still loosing data connection 3g to 1x to nothing then battery gets real hot trying to find a data connection. Have to restart the phone to reconnect to data. Don't live in a 4g area sometime within the next couple of months i was told we would get it. Not being able to connect to my home wireless network, stays stuck trying to get an IP address before it would connect right away. Time to learn how to root any recommendation to where i can get help.

Not for me. I've been running Quick Settings and Green Power, so all of my power settings remained intact. I'm going to go through again and see if there is anything out of the ordinary that might have been changed by the update... notifications, Sense items, etc.

I was among the people that experienced with the rebooting after MR1 released to people. It was definitely frustrating. I ended up getting the leaked MR2 update a while back, and since then, things worked better, no reboots. I got the leaked version of the latest updated that was pushed several days ago. Not noticing any difference. GPS works well, battery life is unchanged. I'm ready for GB.

One cool thing I've noticed is that everything can be viewed in landscape mode now. Before the sense UI was only portrait.

Oh yeah if you do the 1x trick, instead of waiting 2 hours for the DL try switching back to 4G once it starts the update. Took me about 8 minutes.

So far seems like a great update. I was having 6-10 reboots per day, and since I updated on the 8th, I have not had a single one (currently 82 hours 54 minutes 34 seconds up time). Data connection is better too - before the update I would periodically lose 3G (I am not in a 4G area....yet) and it would not come back unless I restarted the phone. That has not happened since the update either. Cannot report on how the update affected battery life - I got the extended battery on the 8th as well, and I have not touched the stock battery since. I can report that the extended battery life is awesome though! I don't like the added bloat, except for the My Verizon app. I think that one is ok, makes it easier than going to the website to check usage. Finally, I LOVE that there is a simpler (and official) way to turn off 4G since I am in a known non-4G area. I imagine the battery life has been helped by that.

is the battery any better?

See the thread "Battery Rockin' after update (http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...orums/102022-battery-rockin-after-update.html)

I have noticed a definite increase in battery life after the MR2 update.

I also strongly believe in doing a master reset (factory data reset) to clear the slate after updating or flashing. As without doing this, I?ve typically had a few issues with apps or settings or general operation. I know it could be a real pain for some to do that. But, I keep my phone pretty simple, make backups of things and have it back to normal within an hour. It?s a small price to pay, but it sure seems to pay off over the long term.

I have have seen many say this about the landscape, but my I can not on my bolt, huh, kinda sucky, unless there is a setting, or something somewhere...
