For those who've received the newly released OTA, can you confirm the software version number and baseband versions?

They should be:
Software build: 2.11.605.5
Baseband: 1.48.00.0906w_1, 0.01.78.0906w_2

I'm still on the old OTA (2.11.605.3) and keep getting no new software update available (even after swapping for a freshly charged battery). So, it hasn't hit my area yet.

That was the version of the last RUU that came out (at least the build number). If you're seeing those numbers in "About", then you have the new build, and you can stop checking. You're done. Congrats.

Yep. I understood your first post. I don't think anyone has gotten the official VZW 605.5 OTA update yet today. I think there is a lot of rambling/conjecture/confusion in this thread up to now.

I'm hopeful for late tonight or tomorrow though. We'll see. AFAIK, although true these things are released in so called "waves", that's for the notifications sent out to the phones that it is ready to download/install. Barring server congestion, I've never known a valid specific "Check for new Software" request to come up empty if one is actually on the server. Unless the phone is broken or rooted or something. IOW, checking for new software should not have to wait on any "wave". You might get a "can't reach server" or "service unavalable" type of response, but you should not get a "no software available" response.

It doesn't seem like there is any refutable evidence that the latest OTA has been received by anyone yet. Update is still not available yet for my daughter.

HTC release all their updates for sprint phones today. Their servers are probably at capacity.

I would be surprised if we got it tonight.

Probably another day or two.

I flashed 605.5 when android police leaked it. Must say vm works..actually I can't find anything wrong..ffc works with gmail. Pretty sure vzw ota is the same as android police..just like when they leaked 603. So whu wait...

On the first Gingerbread release, I started downloading it at 6am but my connection dropped. I kept getting a mix of "service not available" and "no updates available" messages until it was finally re-offered to me at 11am. I clearly remember others loading it while I was getting "no update available", and another guy at work kept getting "no update available " even while I was downloading it.

So there's some form of queuing going on.

My understanding is that it isn;' ny geography, so the person next to you is not fighting for the same resource. It is by batch number so it can be spread out geographically.

I did not even ck. Walked away when I came back notice on screen with a countdown...update to stary in 10,9,8.....

Only the RUU update will wipe your data. The OTA update will not.
