New OTA to version MF9 is out!

When installing I did get an error at the end but ignored it as the package was done installing. Might have to revert using odin as the problem seems to persist even after rebooting.

Ive been experiencing the sd card unmounted error a couple of times. The keyboard looks lighter now which kinda bothers me.

Could that be because of the new legibility setting?

The legibility is about text so I don't think that is the problem.

Hey, guys... Upgraded by simply flashing into recovery mode after moving the raw file to my SD (didn't have to change the file name) and everything went smoothly. Update took close to 15min to complete. It was pretty slow and thought something might error out, but it finished fine.

Anyway, I'm noticing what looks like double-vision in the notification field at the top of the screen on occasion. The icons for bluetooth, wifi, battery percentage and the time look like they have shadows behind them. It goes away every so often. Haven't found anything in the settings to adjust it unless it's a small bug maybe. Haven't played around with what may be new either. Anyone else seeing this at all? It doesn't happen on the lock screen apparently. I attached a screenshot... Have a look at the top of it.

No double vision here. Strange

Here's another shot of that double-vision thing in my notification bar up top. Looks like all the icons are visible on top and it looks just off, 'ya know? You can see it even more clearly in that attached pic. I can't be the only one experiencing it. Anyone else affected so far? I flashed my stock unrooted GS4 with the official MF9 file that some are starting to receive OTA. Why do I get the feeling that another quick update is gonna drop a lot sooner than this one? ;-)

FALSE ALARM! Looks like the transparency update to the notification bar exposed the top of a screenshot taken for the home screen wallpaper I was using! Corrected home screen wallpaper attached. No wonder it looked all duplicated. I was gettin' concerned there for a minute. I Just cropped out the top of the pic and everything is now great! Sorry for the concern this might've given to some about manually updating to MF9... It's been a looooong day... ;-)

Yeah but it I can't notice a difference, didn't do an in depth analysis so I wouldn't know how it works.

This is what happened for me. I just finished the update; and everything worked out fine. Though at the very end I got a little nervous cause it acted like it was going to fail, then it went through 2 reboots. The first reboot updated my Android Apps; and I thought it was done, then it rebooted again to complete the final setup. After that all was well, I checked the system for any other updates and everything was up to date, and running smoothly... Though it worked out for me; I would very much say proceed with caution, or just wait for the OTA. Either way, good luck...

Sweet, just checked over at XDA and someone has it for download, grabbing now....

Edit for anyone that wants it:

http://android.clients.google.com/p...H-L720_MDL_CSB_user_RP_to_MF9_CSB_user_RP.zip

Put it onto your SD card and rename it to update.zip (renaming the file isn't required as someone found)

Then boot into recovery. When the phone is powered off, hold down vol+, home, and power and keep holding them down. The phone boots up and you'll see the galaxy s4 logo and in small text at the top it says booting into recovery. Then let go of the power button but keep holding down vol+ and home until you get to a recovery menu. Use the vol keys to scroll through the options and the power button to chose an option. You should see an option for update via external storage and then chose the zip file.

This way you dont have to wait for it to push to your phone OTA. Also, these steps are for stock, non-rooted, Sprint gs4 phones.

Also, disclaimer, it worked for me. Do so at your own risk.

This method will not delete pictures, and text messages and all that other stuff will it?

Anyone have any luck receiving this update yet by trying the 'Google Services Framework' trick?

I've tried multiple times to no avail. Maybe it's too soon yet?

Mines keep failing.... Keep saying failed signature

Mine did this too. I was using chrome to download the file onto the phone, and then transferring the file to my SD card. Tried renaming file also, and it didn't work.

I then downloaded file using stock browser which downloads to my SD card instead of phone, and it worked! Dunno. Weird.

I've been using stock browser but it always fail... Is it because inhabitants certain apps disabled???

Doubt it. I had a bunch of apps disabled and was able to update that way without a problem. Plus it updates from recovery so the OS isn't even running so any disabled apps shouldn't really matter.
