New phone - any way to find out what the auto-update did?

Hello All. Just received the Optimus S yesterday 4/4/11 (ordered from Sprint online).

After the phone was activated, I answered OK when the phone prompted to perform an auto-update. I probably should have played with the phone as-is for a bit longer and noted down the version info before any updates were applied.

For my own curiosity, is there a way to tell what sw or firmware version it had before the update? (Part of the reason is because I'm wondering if my phone has the newer hardware revision that requires VC/VD according tho this thread)

The phone currently has:
Android version 2.2.2
Baseband version LS670MVD_60401001
Kernel version 2.6.32.9
lge@android-build#2
build number ZVD.41B2924E
SW version LS670ZVD

Thanks!

That thread works even if it had v9 before... chances are it had VC on it prior to the update...

I installed V9 on my phone last night, and a prompt came up to D/L VC, which then VD probably would have come later...

also noticed you are running 2.2.2 - most phones with 2.2.2 installed stock came with VC (in my experience at least)

Sprint does the OTA updates one version at a time. If you only did one OTA update and are at ZVD, then you started at ZVC. There is not ZV9 to ZVD direct update.

Now having ZVC doesn't tell you whether you have the new LCD or old. There might be a way to see in the logcat files, but I never looked into it as I don't have one of the new LCD units.

The LCD display problem, for most cases, is just a temporary situation on the way to a rooted ZVD rom which doesn't have the display problem. Also since using Android Screencast makes the problem almost a non-issue, it shouldn't worry you too much. It is easily reversed if you get cold feet. Just make sure to not turn of USB debugging under any circumstances until you are back on a ZVC or ZVD ROM.
