New Radio for ThunderBolt - LTE/3G Handoff fix - Battery Drain - More!

"No, you don't need to be rooted for this specific RUU file.
Use Astro to back up all your apps then drop this file to the SDcard, reboot to Hboot and let it do the magic.
Then go to market download Astro and install all the apps you backed up.
"

Is it this cut and dry for non-rooted users?

You can delete it after you flash it, no need to keep it. Think of it like in windows when you manually download update files and install them, no need to keep after you're done.

So is there any risk of getting stuck on an unofficial radio? I remember when I was on the Fascinate and a new modem was leaked (like every other month for a while), there was a risk that you would not be able to downgrade from a leaked modem and if Samsung/Verizon did not officially release it there was a chance you would not be able to upgrade to the next official modem, thus leaving you forever married to the leaked firmware.

Is there a similar risk here or can we easily upgrade and more importantly, downgrade radios on the TB?

Been running this for about 12 hours now. Its one spicy meat-a-ball, if ya know what I mean ;)!

AWESOME battery life now.

not good experience here. It does switch faster, but it seems like it cant make up its mind now. I used to get 4g most of the time and now I cant get stable 4g signal anywhere. Hopefully it settles down in a day or so, otherwise it is back to stock firmware and go through the root process again. I would admit my service at home is never that great but I could live with it, but since I flashed I cant get stable 4g at home at all. Plus I didn't get stable 4g at school either.

I think you can go to original radio, all you have to do is download the initial .zip file and flash it in bootloader. Just like we were able to downgrade the radio to root it and then upgrade to the first release firmware after root.

im on 4g and have 12 hours up right now :) stock ftw

-there is a bug where the prox sensor will just stay active and drain power. if you ever see a dull red led on (hard to see unless ur in the dark) thats the Prox sensor showing its activated.

Yes. You will lose it all.

Several backup products out there, however....

this thing needs to get pushed OTA already.
i'm getting closer & closer to just downloading it and flashing it myself

but--i'm paranoid enough that i'd do something wrong--despite the ease of it.

HTC--release the Kraken! (botched spelling)

Christy from what I read over @ xda depends on the method one uses, push just the radio part you may not lose all apps/settings. If you run the full RUU, yes you will lose eveything cause it acts a factory/hard reset. Hope this helps in answering your question.
