what is the point of having this option if the mods keep merging threads

New threads are meant for new topics. There are existing threads on topics for a reason. Having 2340293482 threads about the same topic often leads to mass confusion. Its forum organization, and occurs on all boards you will see.

I have merged 15 2.1 related threads as there is a stickied thread already. Believe it or not, if we don't merge them the whole first page would all be 2.1 threads.

I absolutely love merged threads. I think "new thread" is the # 1 abused button in most forums. The reason this forum is my android forum of choice is specifically because threads are merged.
I vote that "new thread" requests be reviewed by moderators by anyone requesting with less than 100 posts.
