New to the Fascinate Forum? Say Hello!

Well, I stumbled back into this forum now that the 2.2 update came my way. I found a lot of really helpful information while I was try to learn how to root. Everything was so well laid out and automatic that I didn't learn too much. Now I need to figure out how to unroot so I can accept the 2.2 update.

I really like the pictures take with the fascinate sticky. I posted a couple of my own! Take a look and tell me what you think!

Welcome to the Fascinate forum. No front facing camera. What you are seeing on the front is the proximity sensor which shuts the screen off when you hold the phone to your ear during a phone call then wakes up the screen when you pull the phone away. The other thing you are seeing next to it is the light sensor for auto brightness.

If you want to get the most out of your phone, then yes. If you want to try one of the custom ROMs, no need to root beforehand as they all come with root.

Listen to da Shark, he won't steer ya wrong.

IT IS safe to go back into the water, right Chief Brody? :D

All the available ROMs are listed in JaeKar99's thread:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...t-animations-combined-resource-6-20-11-a.html

Just scroll to the ROM section and click on the developer name listed after each ROM. That will direct you to the ROM's original thread which should give you information about each ROM.

Anyone point me to a thread on why Bing has taken over the voice search on the fascinate not allowing google to work at all?

What up Folkses???

I'm Boomer...just switched over from Sprint and based on the fact that I'm going to be hit with a nice, fat termination fee, I decided the $1 Fascinate from Best Buy was my best choice. Well that and I can't justify a $300 premium for faster data service when all I really do is light surfin', podcasts, email and readin' ebooks. Plus I've had a tech-crush on this phone since it was released. I went FROM Verizon a few years back and a BB Pearl to AT&T and the iPhone 3g/3gs to Sprint and the Evo/Epic and now I'm back a little worse for wear (me bummy hurts a bit, yeah).

Already rooted and enjoying all this 4" AMOLED, paper-thin, gorilla-glass goodness.
Glad to be here.
Boomer
