My phone was fully charged before i fell asleep so i unplugged it. When i woke up its all the way dead. Before it would sit over night and I would have like half battery left this sucks.

Anyone else seeing poor battery life after update?

Actually I have better battery life after the update,I did hard reset right after the update.

Yup, my battery life COMPLETELY SUCKS since doing that update early yesterday.

Yes thats because now the phone runs more services after the update, so I've been using Autorun Killer and my battery is fine again.

Strange, I haven't had any battery life issues after the update. I wonder what changed that seems to only be affecting some people?

KingOx: What services did you disable? I'll see if they're running on my device as well.

google talk service, nascar(why does this need to be a running service? come on sprint), photoshop express, qik, sprint football live, sprint nagivation, sprint zone and a few other market apps that were running services too. My Battery life has been better since then, I also use juice defender. Most of this crap never ran as a service prior to the update.

After I updated I noticed the "Time Without Signal" shot way up. After toggling Airplane Mode on and off, it fixed the problem. Now anytime I reboot or just once in a while I'll hit that Airplane Mode button a couple times.

Hmm... I do have all of those same services, but they're not actually running. The only service that's running that I didn't expect was the Sprint Hotspot service; all the other running services are either core services or apps which I intentionally want running.

That may be it right there if those services are starting up at boot then not shutting down.

Whoa, just experienced my first battery drain issue post update. I accidentally did not plug my phone into the charger last night and woke up from full battery to 5% in 7 hrs of idle. This absolutely was not a problem before I updated, I'd wake up and still have 50-60% battery life. What is everyone using to kill services? This is ridiculous that we now have to rely on a task killer after an official update. FAIL!

It would be helpful if everyone who is having this problem posted screen shots of their battery usage screen. Perhaps there is a common theme to what is the battery vampire here.

I used to get 14 hours of battery life (100% -> 10%) before the update, now I get 7 hours. I wished I never updated...

Go to Running services and check what is running.

Download Autorun killer and put the junk you dont want running on the disable list.

I was doing this before the update which is probably why I'm not getting the battery drainage some of you are getting.

Update killed my battery life as well. Tried killing all non-essential apps/services with ATK but still bad battery life. Multiple hard resets have not fixed the issue.

The update was waiting for me this morning so I installed it before work. I normally check my phone during breaks through the day and notice right away that battery life was suffering. I turned my phone off and pulled the battery just to make sure I got a nice clean boot, I was at 66% already at a time of day that would normally still be in the 80% range. After the boot my battery was at 33%. So from 66% to 33% in the time it takes to reboot. Something seems off.

Where do you access the battery usage screen?

It totally screwed mine up, BAD. Used to easily get a full day, from 6AM to 11PM. I would be at about 45%. It was taken off charge at 6AM as usual, it is now 630PM and am now at 3%. This is ridiculous. If there isn't a real fix to this, they can have it back and I will fire the EVO back up.

My battery life tanked after the update too. I was getting 1-1/2 days of use out of it if I put the phone into airplane mode at night. Now I'm not making 12 hours. From my batter usage (now at 20%, was fresh off the charger this morning):

Display 46%
Cell Standby 19%
Phone idle 13%
Android 12%
Voice calls 3%
Gmail 2%
Yahoo 2%
Android Core Apps 1%

I don't have any battery usage reports from before the update but the phone idle and cell stand by seems suspect.

I loaded up Advanced Task Killer and killed all. Seems the email app keeps coming back up though and I'm not even using it.

Your Android System seems a little high..

You can get to battery usage by going to settings, about phone, battery usage.

You can get to running service by going to settings, applications, running servics.

I just downloaded auto run killer and it seems to be running nicely now
