I heard that Motorola released the Oreo update on February 6 for the Moto G5+ but first in Australia and New Zealand. Was that maybe wishful thinking form someone who wants to believe?

No, you heard wrong, they did not release it for the G5+... To my knowledge, it hasn't even been pushed to a MFN group for testing yet.

In other words, don't expect it anytime soon. Once Moto tests it internally, they select a group of Moto Feedback Network users to test it, and that runs for 30-60 days before general release, assuming there are no issues discovered while testing. If there are issues in the beta/soak test, it returns to development, it's fixed, and the process starts over. Nougat for the Moto X Pure took almost 8 months.

As others have stated, the article you saw is just click bait... Unless it is from Moto/Lenovo, ignore it. TBH, you will likely receive the update notification before anything is announced officially.

Does it take so long for the soak test to be complete ?
I think they began the soak test for Nougat in G4 Plus in the beginning of Dec 2016 and we got it officially on 29th Dec 2016 in India.

I can't check now, but I saw that my old Moto X Play received the update for that app too and this model is definitely not getting Oreo.

7.1.1 and September. End of the line for this phone. Still running pretty good as a backup phone and WiFi/media device.

Why do I see other sites saying that is the version update for Moto 5G and they say Moto G5+ will be updating to NPN25.137.92?

I see others on this thread indicate they updated Moto 5G+ to NPN25.137-93 but I'd like to understand the difference before I accept.

I'm in Northern CA, so I guess Northern CA really doesn't matter? @Ry

I got the November update at about the same time as Macdtek: UK, retgb channel, back of the queue.

On the plus side I got the Motorola Notifications update that prepares for Oreo. I'm not holding my breath, though.
