New Virgin phone, Motorola Triumph | JULY19 | $300

Wireless N also uses on avg 3x more power to run. We might be lucky and they some how figured out a way to reduce the power consumption but that will just reduce its benefits. Here is a good resource for entry level info.

Do not worry about power consumption in my house,i was not sold on N till i got the ipod touch and was amazed at the speed and range difference over G.same goes for my customers Laptops that have N..

Okay then by your thinking why do i notice a big difference between an N and G network must be the hardware, which is available to everyone,5 years ago when N first came out i would agree but now i have seen the proof first hand,so explain this, and my pings are between 3 and 5,and that really only comes into importance when running peer to peer multiplayer video games.
here is the link to the router verizon gave me when i signed up

There are lots of reasons for the change you saw but basically it wasn't necessarily the switch to N or even FIOS that did it. You changed out everything and then blame all of your improvement on one or two factors, that's not correct. Networks are a collection of parts, all limited by the lowest factor. There are a lot of factors involved, I can explain it, but it will take a large wall of text and this isn't the place for it.

As for the N using more power, that applies to both the router and the device.

I'm not really sure this phone should be label "high end." Phones have had these specs for almost a year now. Look at the phones that are out now. Yeah this phone is VERY nice and I'll get one regardless if I can root or not. I'd say its about mid range. Definitely above par though.

It's not high end.

It's not state of the art nor top of the line but it's processor and specs point more towards high end than mid range. Definitely better than most current phones.

^^^ good point, whether its rootable or not I think having a newer snapdragon with an adreno 205 gpu and being 25 dollars a month, will be enough to run almost every game without a proble, just wish it had a qhd display, that would of been a treat

Exactly. The only benefit for rooting for me was the wireless tether but I have gotten my own internet so it's not a big deal to me anymore. Well I mean not as much as a big deal. I still love themes :D

For prepaid it's the best thing going - I will be switching from a verizon fascinate to it and cutting my bill by more than half!!! Release it already.

I cant believe some of the arguments in this thread. Geezus you guys will argue over some weird stuff.

If your trying to say this is a high end phone just because of the processor your basically a idiot.
Look at the other features it DOESNT have that high end phones DO have.
Even basing it on the fact its prepaid doesnt make it high end.
This phone was built for prepaid service and is basically a mash up left over droid x and droid 2 parts.

For the price you pay for service with VM having this phone would be nice, but really what does it have that is so much better and warrants upgrading to it? I get the whole mobility thing. But there are some of you that are so blind by a bigger screen that you are willing to shell out another 300 bucks for the phone. What is funny is you came to VM to SAVE money. Now you will be spending more money buying another phone. probably less than six months since you bought the Optimus V.

Its a nice phone, if I had the EXTRA cash to throw around I would buy it, but only once its cracked open somewhat. However it being a moto phone and not that special I doubt it will get the attention moto phones need from the proper devs.

For the most part we are all going to have to agree to disagree on some of this. And truly wait until the phone hits the stores and gets in the wild to test it out.

^^^ first off arguing about weird stuff? welcome to the forums...it happens on almost every website, nothing new, but what i don't get is calling people idiots for typing their opinion down. Who cares if such and such thinks its a high-end phone or not. And yes people have flocked to Virgin Mobile to save money, but in the end those of us who fork over their own hard working money (most of us) would still be saving money then staying with a bigger company like say Verizon...your last line is all i nod to

I think mostly they knock it because they do not know yet if they will be able to use these great custom Roms, god forbid some of us want everything on the phone to work right, but like i said the fact it has N wifi support, a flash camera, more Rom,and a better processor is good enough reasons to upgrade, and within 6 months the saving you get over a contract phone will pay for it,.

Very true. I think my OV had been well since paid off. It was like 89-90 bucks a month for sprint after all the hidden fees, surcharges, ect.
