I never said the OV was as fast or faster, I said about on par (as in close) and I was referring to a very tweaked OV. I'm not denying that it will still lose.
At some point all of that speed only gets diminished returns (you don't need a Core I7 to browse the web!). As long as nothing lags, and my phone rarely lags, then all of that extra speed will go unused. The only thing that will do significantly better, is run flash. Is it faster, of course! It's a newer processor, and faster.
You mentioned the specs, a lot of that depends on what you need the phone to do.
The HDMI port, odds are most will never use it. The bigger screen, means a bigger phone, that isn't always a good selling point. I do like the better camera and the more memory though.
Lets not forget the Wireless N capabilities, the 2 GB internal storage is huge,i much better screen resolution, and a led flash on the camera, you are right it depends on what you need in a phone, but as i can see most V owners want to run games, play movies via netflix, now the only real reason to want to root would be to ditch the bloatware, out of the box this phone will do so much more then the V,without having to deal with overclocking and installing bugged custom Rom to achieve performance.the only thing i can find that the triumph will not have over the V is the battery life.and that will be answered when released,i like the V,but as time moves on you will find yourself beating a dead horse.
