Or when he figures out rooting (good that he is learning instead of jumping the gun & bricking) keep the V and get a tablet like the Asus Transformer and tether to it with the V.

Im so baffled by all the people here defending a phone that isnt released yet.
All because it has a 1ghz cpu and a big screen.

This guide will not work. If it did then the DX bootloader would be unlocked already. And yes i know of the bootstrap.
Edit: What makes Moto a ***** about bootloaders is they encrypt them. Only a few moto devs even know the password to get in.
The processor specs have been released as GHz. 4.2 in. screen. 5mp camera. supposed to be released sometime in July .
They've been released for a little bit now, bit where are you getting 4.2 screen? Everywhere I've looked says 4.1, not that there's much visible difference, just wondering.

Motorola Atrix Gingerbread update contained the code to make unlocking the bootloader optional.
If they're giving older devices a chance, there's hope that the unreleased Triumph could get this.

So for the rumor that this was a rebranded Huawei x6, is the exact model "Huawei U9000 Ideos X6"? Since the Triumph is a new model ZAGG doesn't offer an InvisibleShield for it yet, but they do have one for the Huawei u9000 ideos x6. Besides the locked bootloader issue, my main thing is I won't get a phone unless screen protectors are available, I think I have OCD.

I agree, what I was getting at was the people who got the first couple batches of the V were using the accessories for the Optimus S as everything was basically the same. Was hoping the rumor about the X6 was mostly true on the physical specs side so those accessories fit.

Just use a universal one. I've applied zagg, the pre-cut ebay ones, and the universal ones and honestly they are all the same thing. You're just paying a hell of a lot more for the pre-cuts and zagg brand name. The only difference I've found between the generics and zagg, is that the zagg picks up fingerprints more easily and doesnt provide as slick of a surface to slide your fingers on.

I haven't seen anything about recoveries or roms though and they may have patched the rooting hole on the Virgin model.
The Motorola unlocker is for GB, and Motorola has horrible reputation for updates, so don;t count on this seeing GB.
