I like what "George Leon" said on a nearby thread. It seems to make a lot of sense:

"Welp....Santa will have to make it himself.... There is NO new Nexus 10. Please show me one screen grab or image that hasn't been pretty conclusively proven to be fake. Show me one FCC filing for a device that could be the Nexus 10-2. With the Nexus 5, dozens of manufacturers & retailers had accessories ready to go. I have seen one case for the N10-2 on Amazon for PRE-ORDER. He fell for the fake grabs I am guessing. The evidence is just not there. No development leaks, no literature leaks i.e. service manual, no conclusive FCC filings, nothing. Sorry to burst your bubble."

Again, I don't see why Google would CHOOSE to wait if they had something ready to go. And, yes, there are people who would "consider" an iPad Air. There is nothing sacred about Android. I may be wrong, I was once, because I would buy an N10 2 in a yankee minute if available. But what if its not available? I will not say "Android" or nothing! I have promises to keep.

I repeatedly see commercials for the Nexus 7. More than I see ads for any other tablet or even smartphones. If that and the non-release of a next gen N10 say anything, it says that Google believes the 10" form factor is an afterthought, and its eggs are primarily in the 7" form factor basket.

Then they should just come out and say it - so I can then just buy one of the last remaining N10s. Of course, the quad core rumored N10 would be much much better, thus my willingness to wait.

In short: responsible Journalists [Like AndroidCentral] may well have inside information that they are not at liberty to share.

I seem to remember Jerry Hildebrand (not sure if I spelled it right) mentioning that he has that inside information and specifically was not at liberty to share. It was either in the comments of some N5 rumor article or in a forum thread. Anyone else catch/find that?

Edit: Saw similar post down the thread from two days ago; sorry, everyone.

Im leaning towards a 32GB LTE, the waiting for the new nexus 10 is killing me and then god knows how long I'll have to wait after its release to actually get one.

I've just bit the bullet and got the 32gb LTE myself, if a Nexus 10 does materialize I still have the cash to buy one as I did the EIP of $159 and $23 a month, now I have the iPad I'm finding that I'm enjoying being in both ecosystems, still prefer android over IOS though any day, but this is a great media consumption device.

Do you find iOS to restrict your usage in a very noticeable way? How do you like the iPad Air overall in comparison to an android tablet? It might be too early to tell, but do you notice a difference in tablet app quality?

It doesn't restrict as such, it's just not what I'm used to, the build quality of it is excellent, the screen is great also even though it has a little less in PPI, as for app quality you do see a difference, quality of apps is higher I find on the App Store , but I think that's just a case of being there 1st, could I replace my android tablet with the iPad.... No, but it defiantly compliments the android experience,.

The only android tablet I can say is built as well as the iPad is the LG G Pad, very similar but I didn't like the UI so much, very Samsung like, and the 16gb wasn't enough due to no apps2sd

I'll still buy a nexus 10 and look forward to doing so

International Business Times is speculating that Google will release the new Nexus 10 alongside the tablet-focused refresh of Google Play on 11/21/2013:
Google Nexus 10 2 Release Date Set Nov. 21 - International Business Times
Just another rumor, though.

It seems like they are the only people out there posting about the 10 2 and their info is either repeating old info or based upon rumors. I for one am waiting anxiously for some word from Google on the status of this device. I have two ipad minis on their way to my mailbox for my kids and my husband swears by is ipad Retina. Come on, Google. Don't let those of us in the market for 10 inchers wait any longer. Not happening in 2013? Fine. Not happening at all? Fine. Just stop with the "accidental leaks" on Google Play and at least let us know if we should hang on longer or look elsewhere. I love my Nexus 7 2012, but need more screen as I move further and further away from my laptop. Please give us something.

Google Nexus 10 2 may be released alongside the Nexus 8, according to the report from Highlight Press.

That's enough to tell me this reported is just full of it....

I have the new Nexus 7 2013, and in the beginning the only difference noticeable was the screen resolution for me. But after I placed a custom Rom on it, this little thing exploded......the speed and responsiveness was amazing, easily putting the original 7 to shame. It was well worth the money for me.....and this custom rom has allowed me to run muliple apps on a split screen with no slow downs at all. Definately glad I made the jump......

I am REALLY interested in learning from those who have Android experience but have actually bought and used the iPad Air. I saw a "Black Friday" ad for an "Air" for $449. I'm getting almost desperate in getting a new tablet and can't abide these constant rumors about the "10 2". If I knew it was definitely and officially coming out I might wait a little but I'm getting blue holding my breath. I am very suspicious that it is not coming out soon. With the Air and mini 2 out already what can "big G" possibly gain by not even hinting at a viable product if only to keep prospective buyers, like me, from buying a competing product? And to the doubters - Yes, there are many people out there who have bought an Air who might have considered a Nexus, if it had existed.

I either saw, or dreamed I saw, a "Black Friday" ad from Target advertising a new Air for $479. PLUS a $100. Target Gift Card. I'd say $379 is enough to sway me away from mother Android. Because I assume there will be less than an infinite supply I am asking all of you, and every one you know, to abstain from purchasing one in North Carolina before I do. Thank you in advance for your courtesy and cooperation. I find it hard to fathom that Big G would wait until Black Friday week to announce their new baby when everybody else is announcing sales, especially on Apple and Samsung products. It would be like coming to market with a new product but you hold off a month to allow your competitors to get established. The only problem I might have is if the N 10 2 came out this week at a ridiculous price and delivery was speedy. Only then might, and I'll say might twice for dramatic effect, would I then even consider restating my loyalty to Android. Folks - let's get a grip. Google and Android exist for one purpose to make money. This is fine and is as it should be but let's not confuse buying a tablet with patriotism. Let the big boys compete for my attention and may the better board of directors win.

Google and Android or Google and Apple? What's the patriotism thing mean? The better board of directors between Google and Apple? You don't think Apple has anything to do with the Target sale, right?
