What if you're getting a lap dance?

I don't think even a metal phone would have survived that... aluminum IS bendy, you know? So unless they start making phones out of steel, you better avoid falling on your **** while your phone's there.
That's actually a pretty good one lol. Nope it is a Nexus 5 purchased with a Visa.

I doubt he fell with enough force to bend something like an HTC One. Obviously the screen would still have cracked but might not have bent like this. I'm not going to try but I bet I could snap the S4 with my bare hands, not the One

This was your only mistake.I slipped on some Ice on the stairs. I had the phone in my back pocket.
It was not useless...it was never designed for that kind of fall. It was designed for protecting from drops, not having 100lb+ objects fall on it. IMO there probably is no case anywhere that would have helped you in this situation.I had the supcase unicorn bumper and a screen protector on. The case was USELESS.
All the newer phone are thin and fragile. You even need to be careful just sticking them in your pants pocket. Put a CD in your front pocket, then sit down and see how much the CD bends.
A few years ago when I was using Palm Treo's you could play football with them and not damage the phone.![]()
Oh really.....whats the gauge thickness do you think the HTC One is. Its thin aluminum not heavy gauge nor is it made of steel You have to have some sort of logic about this. Even a phone that was aluminum like the HTC one would break and more than likely be bent. That was a hard fall thaT LEFT AN "***" print mold into the phone.rofl. I feel your pain, but this is why I have a belt clip with it on my waist in front of me not on my side.
I'm sorry for your lost but everytime I see someone puting their phones in the back pocket the hair are lifting on my arm as I imagine what would happen if they sit on it. The pictures you are showing just confirm what I saw in my head

???I agree. To me, putting a phone in the back pocket would be like putting your phone on the asphalt under your car right in line with your car tire because it's the most comfortable place to keep it stored until you're ready to drive somewhere and then you'll pick it up. It just seems like there's a 100% chance that ONE TIME you'll forget it's there and it's finished. Unless you have the new LG flex device, I would NEVER store my $400 device in a spot where it's almost guaranteed to be destroyed just because it's "more comfortable".
???
That wasn't a very good analogy![]()
It was hehe, no worries, I have had my fair share of bad analogies when trying to describe something here XDI know, it was a massive stretch. But that's honestly how I feel about it. Both scenarios make the same amount of sense to me. Chances of this same exact thing happening just seem too high.
