Nexus 5 is better than the iPhone.

Re: Nexus 5 is better then Iphone

The iPhone has significantly less pixels to push so yeah, it's going to perform better but the N5 performs 91% as well as the 5S (Basemark X) with 2.8 times as many pixels...
Edited: Mentioned incorrect benchmark test
The iPhone has a lot less to do period. It's like putting a Mustang V8 in a Fiesta. ...of course its fast. I have a iPhone 5s (I really don't know for how much longer, I'm still with 14 days) and the A7 may be fast but I'm not a big gamer and the iPhone isn't doing much else with the horsepower...trust me.

Is this a joke? You find swiping down from the home screen and typing in any program your looking for harder than android?
It may actually not be a joke. If you're used to doing things in Android iOS can be...cumbersome. Like trying to pull down the notification bar to get to settings. Nope, gotta remember where you put the settings icon. ...just little things like that.

Re: Nexus 5 is better then Iphone

I think you need to re-math your math.

350 x 2 = 700. The iPhone 5s is $650.

Nah, my calculations were correct. $350 is less than half of the $909.50 at Negri Electronics where I get my unlocked phones. 909.5/2=454.75 > 350

Changing to your number source of the iphone price to the Apple store it's 53.9% of the price of an iphone 5s then I'll concede but regardless of the math my point and excitement still stands: The Nexus 5 is a hell of a device that competes with "the best" at half (plus 3.9%) the price of a iphone 5s.

So since YOU DONT game the horse power is wasted? I am a gamer on both PC and mobile and let me tell you the A7 is not going to waste.

Also just because IOS doesn't possibly run as many background apps doesn't mean that skews the benchmarks at.all.

Re: Nexus 5 is better then Iphone

I am using a G2 and the screen is great...as sharp and clear as the iPhone 5 if not better and it also compares favorable with my brothers S4. It's the only cell phone I have had that a picture popped up and I really consciously said to myself wow look at that screen. Some of the wow might have been the 5.2" screen as I came from an iPhone 5 and a Nexus 4.

The G2 and the Nexus 5 do not have the same panel, so how great the G2's screen is has no bearing on the screen used in the Nexus 5.

Basically.

As far as I'm concerned.

Is there something else the A7 gets to munch on besides gaming?

When I was young I gamed on everything I could get my grubby little hands on too.

Hahaha, yeah. That's what I was trying to say. Bugatti engine in a Honda Civic is going to be faster than a similar engine in a Yukon XL

The operating system load should not skew benchmarks.

Nope but the settings are harder to find. I didn't say it was hard, I know how to use it, but Stock Android is just easier
Also, having an app drawer separate from the homescreen is better than having endless homescreens to store all your apps, even if you do have the ability to search for the ones you need.

Not a fair thing said. Pages and other apple apple apps really do push it. Especially iMovie when processing a video. The boost is amazing. Cuts the rendering speed by half from the 5.

control centre. besides the settings app isn't as cluttered as you make it out to be.

What does control center have to do with what I said? It's not cluttered but it's not as organized as the Android settings app.

I'd say IOS has the better settings app. Mobile hotspot is right up top and I use it frequently. On my Nexus 4 its in more then press the hotspot then turn it on. IOS has certain things easier.

Both have things that are easier than their counterparts but I personally prefer Android's experience, just seems more intuitive to me.

For example, iTunes I'd hard to use on Android devices but pretty simple on iOS. ;)

Amen to that. I had to work to get my iTunes music and playlists on my Android devices and it still doesn't want to act right with synching to my Note 8.0.
