Nexus 5 is out, still glad I have my MAXX

And this is the primary reason I bought a MAXX and know that it was the right choice for me. I'd rather have a Nexus, but I am on Verizon. Until the full switch to LTE and VOLTE, VZW will not get a Nexus.

That said, I love the MAXX battery life and active notifications. I am not sure at this point that I would buy a Nexus over the MAXX, even if it was on VZW. Battery life in particular has change the way I use my phone. I absolutely love not worrying about having the power to make it through the day, no matter where I am or how hard I use the device.

Even with the AWS spectrum that was purchased by VZW (Band 4 which IS supported by the Nexus 5), the roll out will take at least a full year before all the major markets receive it. Now, if Google makes a Dev phone (which is slim to none due to their track record with Nexus), we might see support for Band 13. But do you really want to wait that long?

Galaxy Nexus owners were informed by Google that Kit Kat will not be available on their device. Since it was VZW's lone Nexus device, all of us who owned a Nexus are forced to choose the new Moto line due to the closeness to Stock Android. Truly a shame on Verizon's end. But it is truly like a double edge sword when you want a reliable network. Ugh!

Android Central's initial battery review. The type of times mentioned in there would definitely be doable for me (certainly not desirable), but what would be concerning is what those time are going to look like months from now when the battery is worn down.

Hell yes I'd still take my MAXX.

It would be nice if development was better for the maxx. That's one of the upsides to the nexus lineup

Development for the Maxx seems nonexistent.

True. Which sucks because the hardware quality is awesome on top of the AOSP styling and battery life.

Nonexistent development seems to plague all Moto devices.

Not true. These droid lines are the first hardware that moto mobility produced under Google. Moto X got their updates, ours are coming this month, that's a given since soaks have been sent out.

I'm talking about development of custom Roms. Not OTA updates
