Nexus 5 'Leaks' (evleaks, Carphone Warhouse, LG Canada)

If there is no mention by Google of this phone by Nov 1, then Nov 2 will be fun. lol

"The assembled forces of the internet would rise up and smite Google" if they dared to not announce the Nexus 5 by November 1.

October 31 - Announcement Date
November 1 - For Sale Date

I'm willing to bet that they will announce another event tomorrow for Thursday. Just my hunch.

Did anyone grab the pictures before they were taken down?

Huge screen bezel..this is getting more disapointing with every image
Yeah the initial reports a a nearly non existent bezel were one of the things that excited me. Bummed that it is not as small as anticipated but I am still looking forward to this update coming from a gnex.

EVLeaks posted a picture of a white Nexus 5 that said "11/1" in the caption. Everything stems from that one tweet from a guy who has posted incorrect things about the Nexus 5 in the past. The blogs picked up on it first, so the people on the forums starting reciting it as gospel. Then the bigger tech websites (which usually have no clue what they're talking about and just steal their stories from the bloggers) began citing 11/1 as the definite date because the blogs said so. So then the people on the forums said, "Well if these huge tech websites are saying it, it must be true!" So it's basically a huge circle of "11/1! 11/1!" when in reality, this can all be traced back to a single source, EVLeaks, who doesn't have the best track record in regards to Nexus 5 facts.

Let's be fair, for years evleaks has been correct. He posted some wrong info this time on the Nexus 5 that may have been his fault or he was simply given bad info from one of his insiders, we don't know, it really doesn't matter. He has a stellar track record for accuracy and people are trying to dismiss him out of hat for one error that again, may not even be his fault as he just passes on what he's given by people in the industry.

Just because you buy something and it's broken out of the box doesn't mean the company that makes it sucks, sometimes things happen and that's just life, nothing is perfect. The track record for a company should speak to its quality or lack thereof.

Let's also not forget that any "leak", no matter the source, is variable until formally announced/revealed.

Right, afaik he's only been semi proven wrong about one thing about the N5 and thats the FCC filing and he later backtracked that. No matter who the leakster is though, I trust it when I hear it from Google.....not before.

I agree he is generally right about everything. However, that hasn't been the case with the Nexus 5. If you noticed, after the screw-up with the FCC filing thing, he hasn't posted any information about the Nexus 5 that wasn't already leaked elsewhere until now. This "11/1" date is the only real "leak" that he has been the first to report, and that's even a stretch considering others have been guessing November 1 for a month, they just didn't have anything to back it up.

If he's right, I'll be excited. If he's wrong, I won't be surprised, but I will be a little disappointed.

Still, this 11/1 concrete date all stems from that single tweet, and we haven't seen any other info to back that date up as official.
