i'm switching to the GoPhone $60/Month Plan, i'm paying $120 prorated ETF to Sprint to leave 6 months early, and i won't consider staying with Sprint even if the Nexus 5 is available. i'll get enough monthly savings with the GoPhone $60 plan plus the sale of my G-Nex to cover the $120 ETF. Sprint has been a decent value since 2008 for me but lately i have problems with SMS/MMS and speeds can be flaky even though i'm in a top 10 US city/LTE market. i just want to cut the cord and be free and get it over with.

Without going into alot of details, I'll say that my Sprint contract was cancelled by Sprint without ETF (since they cancelled it) cause my phone was excessively roaming on Verizon (thank you verizon prl's). Got my termination letter a few days ago so I'm ready to leave Sprint and my Gnex and pick up the N5 on T-Mo. Very excited.

It looks weird cuz the front is black, it would be awesome with white front/back and black sides.

I agree 100%. White looks pretty stupid. Lets hope they offer a white front as well.

I am doing the exact same. Same ETF I will be paying and I don't care what Sprint does, I'm leaving.

I have somewhat OK LTE in my city, but still, im just sick and tired of sprint.

I'm thinking that the press already has them. Maybe that's what the mystery event was really for last week and they just said it wasn't an official announcement to try to keep it under wraps.
The concert would have been a great place to try out the low-light abilities of the Nexus 5's OIS.

I thought so too, Think it was just a party though. Actually almost 100% sure it was just a party.

I found the original Event page on G+ for it but it says nothing of the Nexus 5, only that they're introducing a number of improvements to G+. Additionally I found a Droid-Life bit about it as well, also with no mention of the Nexus 5. I'd be interested where Patrick got that quote from.
