nexus 6 back cover unstuck

Is this a common issue to all nexus 6 units? What was the response of motorola store when they saw the defected unit? Do they say that it is a design issue?

I was wondering if I was the only one that this has been happening to. I've had mine for a couple of weeks now, and it hasn't been that severe as the other pictures. I can feel that it's the glue or something that's sticky on the other side that's holding it together because when I push down it seems to hold it. I'm starting to think it's the battery as well.

Is there any android central staff or moderators here that can flag this and send it to the proper people? This seems to be a bigger issue than most think!

I have sent these pictures along with my Google Support request to replace it (for the second time). Hey, third time's a charm!

So mine is just barely lifted (I cannot fit my finger under the area and can definitely not see any internals like pictures here have shown). Today is the 14th day since I received it and I don't know if I need to lodge a complaint today or not. What do you guys think?

Go for it and then report back. Haha. I bought a case, that comes today so hopefully that will help with it.

Don't let that go -- send it back. If there's any separation then moisture can get into the internals. And I can't help but think that once the back starts to come off, it will only get worse.

Supposedly they have a $900 model coming out soon that will use better glue... AND an extra Chinese boy will check all units that come off of the assembly line just to make sure.

I wish Android Central would check out this forum and post their own article on it. A heavyweight like them would really get Motorola's attention!

You could try sending them a news tip

I sent this thread to Rob and Phases at Android Forums. That's when they started looking into it. Phases ask me if anyone at Android Forums were talking about is so they didn't have to reference Android Central forums. I said no, Then Rob started a new discussion thread. I'm glad the word is getting out so that Motorola knows it's an issue to deal with.

Why is everyone freaking out about this? You don't want superglue holding the cover on because it would be hard to change backs or replace the battery. Find some glue and fix it, or return it. My 2£.

Maybe because they just spent damn near $700 on a device and the thing is coming a part before their eyes?

I just read an article from the Times of India, talking about this very issue. It's apparently wide-spread (including units purchased from the Play Store in Canada), and in the story (published today, I believe), a Nexus 6 owner from Michigan got 2 units with the same defect. Apparently it's caused by the battery swelling up. The owner tweeted Motorola support, and it seems they are aware of it. This really doesn't inspire confidence in me to eventually purchase the device. This is a major issue to me.

This is the article I speak of. It's crazy that it seems Motorola is not releasing a statement on this. They've handled this whole thing terribly, starting with the launch, then the lack of availability. Spending upwards of $750 is a big deal, and I think Motorola needs to address this.

I agree. So far, I don't use the turbo charger, so it has never gotten really warm. It's always in a case. As of now, both of my devices are free of the defect. However, if the battery is prone to swell, I hope it does while still covered under the warranty.

Are you serious or just trolling?? You know the Nexus 6 does not have a removable battery, right? So yes, I actually would prefer if they used super glue.
