Nexus 6 battery after one week

I've only had the nexus 6 for a few days so I'll hold off judgment on the battery but it's not even close to my iPhone 6 plus. I can get over 10 hours of ost with heavy use. If the nexus 6 is close to the note 4 I'll be happy. I see people say they get 3 to 3.5 hours of ost, I won't be happy with that. I would think it has to be a software issue though as the note 4 gets 5 to 6 hours of ont for me.

Listening to Google music play.. I will take another screenshot later be using phone more extensively later on

I was saying that 6-7 SOT is exaggerated (though I haven't heard many people make that claim, was just responding to the post) .... more importantly, 4-5 is rock solid and certainly dispels some of the criticism.

thanks for the screenshot!

No problem.
BTW the reason I posted that screenshot was the following: I had 36% left which is about a bit more than a third of the battery left, that would mean I got 2hrs SoT by third of battery. So 6 hrs SoT would be achievable (assuming I don't do something that drains the battery faster, i.e. GPS and maps). You also have to consider the battery saving mode, which should squeeze a few more minutes of SoT of the battery. At least in 5.1, 6 hours of screen seems quite achievable.

Have a good day.

I disagree , I leave my GPS on 24/7 and ble tooth and I get 24 hrs easily out of my battery.... I put it back on the charger at 9%... My email syncs once a day. Screen at 50%. Rocking 4 widgets .....
N6 att

I have my GPS set to high accuracy and on all the time (as well as Bluetooth and WiFi on even when not in use) and easily go 12 - 16 hours a day with 3 - 4 hours of screen on time and usually 90+ minutes of streaming music over LTE.... on a LIGHT day I can easily go 24 hours with about 2 hours screen on.... Turning the GPS off completely makes a difference of just 2 or 3% over my usual usage...

Now using navigation/maps for 20 - 30 minutes completely destroys the battery.... even plugged in while using the navigation on my phone for just 20 minutes or so dropped my battery from 100 to 80% all while plugged up the whole time... but just having GPS on has minimal battery drain.....

I decided to read through the forums in case I decide to trade my droid turbo...

Haven't any of you ever looked at the apps to see what's killing your battery? I don't know if this would help others but I no longer run any Facebook apps on my phone and battery had improved tremendously. Those two apps are killers.

I've noticed there's a lot of poorly written apps in the play store. I tend to install one or two at a time and watch my battery life to be certain they aren't draining it.

I can easily get about 6 hours screen on time and last a day and a half on my phone. I've gone three days with only charging it in my car during 25 minute commute and had 34% remaining. I keep gps high accuracy on, nfc, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, everything basically. Sorry I don't have stats to show. Check out the droid turbo battery stats thread. Lots of good info and it's basically the same hardware as the nexus 6.

Anyways, start checking the apps you guys run to clear up the discrepancies. I keep everything turned on all day every day on all my phones I've never had issues getting a day's use.

My first 24 hours with the Nexus 6 I had 10 hours off charger and 3 hours off screen time and had 38% battery left. I'll see how it fares the rest of the week.

My battery life is great, blows my iPhone 5s I had for the last 10 months way out of the water.

My iPhone I would have to charge at the end of my working day (just 8 hours) and again later in the evening after dinner just to make it through the day.

My Nexus 6 is MAYBE 30-40% when I'm ready for bed and that's running things pretty heavily.

I don't baby my phones either. I have e-mail and notifications push, none of this 15 minute syncing garbage. I have my screen at about 50% brightness.

No complaints here, I love this phone.

Is anyone else getting these stats? I don't feel like I did anything different than yesterday yet my screen on time is insane!

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I've noticed some weird stuff with my battery the past couple days.

Yesterday the meter was going down much too slowly, and today it's dropping much faster than what seems normal. When I put the phone on the Qi charging pad for a bit it seemed to charge much faster than normal too.

Hopefully it's a glitch in the way the battery percentage is being reported, and not something suddenly wrong with the battery.

I'm gonna let the phone discharge all the way down and see what that does.

Not too bad for me with a 4 day old Nexus. Anyone know why there's a gap in my graph? I'm rooted (nothing custom just rooted for free hotspot) and using HiFont app I applied a font about that time(phone reboots).

isn't that just the phone being idle? android needs to get better with idle drain, that's one area that iPhone has em beat

I agree on my 6 plus I did an experament and used it minimaly and went 6 days on a single charge. I could have made it 7 if I would hqve let it run down all the way. On my N6 overnight with no use it will drop a percent an hr. Where the iPhone will drop a percent every 5-6 hrs.
