Nexus 6: Complaints, bugs & gremlins thread.

I really loved the Nexus 6 except for the jumpy auto focus with recorded videos. Google never released an update to fix. I sold the nexus 6 as a result.

Yeah the lack of auto-focus (and constantly going out of focus for Snapchats) really annoys me.

Anyways, I came to post to see of anyone is having any issues with brightness suddenly spiking to max and not turning down for a whole 10 seconds, effectively blinding ones eyes. My phone has been doing this and having even worse performance issues on Marshmallow, and I've factory reset it multiple times in attempts to fix the multiple problems I've had. Definitely not getting any Motorola made device ever again, that's for sure. My whole experience with this device has been disaster really, even as I type on it Facebook and Spotify somehow eat away more battery than the QHD display itself at a moderate brightness level.

Little more information before I go, the specific brightness bug I'm referring to generally happens when my phone is playing music (Spotify) and is under my sheets; I press the unlock button and BAM it's super bright for no reason. It was just in total darkness and face down, I'm not sure how any ambient sensor would be THAT faulty as to detect complete (essentially...) darkness as full sunlight, so I'm assuming this is a software bug, especially since it only started occuring when upgrading to Marshmallow.

Anyways, just reviving a semi-dead thread I suppose, carry on~

Dear Friends,

I have purchased Google Nexus 6 on January 5 2015 . The mobile was working perfectly fine. On 19-April-2016 i got an update from android, so as usually I have updated and it was restarting. After restarting and message shown as "Android is upgrading", suddenly mobile got switched off, while i tried to on the errro message shown as "Your phone is corrupted" "Unfortunately settings has stopped working, click ok" . So I gave it to Service center "Trident Technologies, in Kodambakkam, Chennai", after diagnosing they called me and informed that "They have tried to reset the OS and also tried to flash the OS, still same error is occurs so motherboard needs to be change itseems and for Nexus 6 32gb motherboard price is 8000 INR"

I don't understand for upgrading Android software with file size of 28.8 mb , I need to give 8000 INR money. Stilll my mobile with the service center people. Kindly clarify me whether for android update should i need to change the motherboard.

I suggest you try to re-install yourself, you can find many articles online. Less likely Motherboard would be affected due to a software update.

Im definetly considering swapping to an iphone - Nexus 6 has been way too unreliable and embarrasingly slow. An iphone for the same price hasn't got the same quality issues
