Nexus 6/Shamu by Motorola?

Right about the product existing, wrong about the date. That was my only point. Claiming 100% accuracy when that's not what you have is.....well......wrong.

I'm excited about the next Nexus, but I'm not chasing all the rumors. It happens when it happens.

Actually he was right about the product and date. Check your facts.

This would be a great phone! I'd like a bigger phone with good specs.
I have the Note 3, which I like, but I'd like to try a Nexus phone and I don't want a smaller screen.

What do you mean got the date wrong? He said Aug 28 release and it was released that day.

TK Tech leak on the 25th Aug saying the release date will be the 28th: (Exclusive) Moto Luge images specs and price for Verizon | TK Tech News

Article about the release of the Luge on the 28th: Motorola Luge is Verizon's prepaid Razr M - CNET

I really think TK Tech News has a source inside Moto. Would be virtually impossible to predict the Luge to that extent and get it right.

So when TK reports something from their Motorola source about the Nexus X, I'm more inclined to believe it now.

The Luge stuff sounds like it was from a Best Buy source. Go back and check what they said about the screen size.

Am I missing something?

Here's (as far as I'm aware) the first post TK Tech News made about the Moto Luge: Verizon Set to Launch the MOTOROLA Luge LTE on AUGUST 28th and Nexus X info | TK Tech News

Says nothing about the actual size of the screen on there. After that, they got info from their Moto source which included the screen size, specs etc which all happened to be 100% accurate.

Where did he get the screen size wrong?

Shamu is a giant animal. Given that they are using that codename really leads me to believe that the display will be 6".

I don't know who TK Tech News is, but as of recently, they've been coming out with some solid info.

It's not about 'defending' them, I'm just correcting incorrect misinformation being posted.

Motorola and Verizon Wireless are launching the Motorola Luge OR Moto Luge on August 28th and will be the first big screen of the moto devices “Specifically marketed to Verizon Prepaid Customers”

Now *our source did provide screen shots, Which will be below. *Also we find out that not only is this a BIG SCREEN but LTE is on board for the new LTE Prepaid plans from Verizon. We could not confirm the size of the screen but are working on it, And the device launches in Three days anyway.

It's advertised as "Big screen" on Verizon's own website: Luge by Motorola Prepaid | Verizon Wireless -Verizon Wireless

So again, where is TK Tech News wrong? It was going to be advertised as 'Big screen' by Verizon, that info was passed to TK, they reported on it as being 'big screen' exactly as Verizon describe it as.

Doesn't matter what your perception of 'big screen' is and whether 4.3" fits your definition of a big screen. That's what Verizon was going to advertise it as and that info was passed to TK and TK reported that.

Again, the TK Tech News has been 100% accurate with the Moto Luge info, and they've been getting info regarding the Nexus X. Seeing as they were correct with the Luge info, I'm inclined to believe them when they say their Moto source has Nexus X info.

i believe its already be stated that the n6 or nexus x will be 5.2". any larger than that and ill be passing. also wont buy if it has a amoled screen. on the fence about moto making this tbh.

Agreed. What is with this trend of screens becoming huge? Are we going to eventually be walking around with 10" tablets that make phone calls? Enough already. I see 5.5 as the biggest I would consider. And it better have very thin bezels.

Oh really? Already been stated by who? All signs point to 5.9. Looks like you'll be passing.

Your hissy fit wont stop manufacturers from making large phones. There's options.

Larger phablet devices are becoming more and more popular.... It does some what amaze me when I see some what petite women holding and using a Note 3.... but anyway.... Even Samsung wasn't sure if there was a market for it... The original Note and it's follow up were more or less "hey lets just see if someone will buy it." devices.... They threw something up against the wall and it stuck....

Now with the Nexus program... It's gone beyond a developers reference device for some time now.. It's almost 50/50 between a reference device and a retail product for everyone.... It would make perfect sense if at the end of the day there is a 5.2 and 5.9 inch device (I really hope it's a 5.9 device) from both a developer and retail stand point... Phablets are not going away so why wouldn't there be a reference device in that category?

Google does love to play games with the rumor mill though... So who knows... I was already considering the Note 4 when it hits but now I have to sit back and see what the Nexus looks like... I've loved vanilla android since I had the Nexus One.... But I've been wanting a bigger phablet device since the Note 3 hit...

Isn't it for developers?

Exactly... developers and for folks who prefer a phone sans mfg / carrier clutter (and/or contract pricing). I think the Nexus program (and maybe GPE as it adds phones) plays an important role in competing with the "pure" iPhone experience. I'm not a developer, but without the Nexus program I'd probably still be using an iPhone. Now with off-contract pricing, I'm hoping the Nexus program stays around at least long enough for some price/performance comparable no-contract GPE phones to become available.

I'm the complete opposite, the migration towards "phablets" or whatever is wholly unappealing to me. Much of the time I find that even my Nexus 4 is a bit cumbersome (e.g. hiking, biking, skiing, etc.). I'd love to have a minimalist phone (small, high quality, bright screen with minimal smart phone functionality such as maps and audio player, a rugged flip design with weather sealing would be ideal) that doesn't take up much space, but can act as a portable hotspot and I'll carry an iPod Touch or my Nexus 7 when I need / want it.

A rugged flip phone?? Very small niche for something like that. I hear you on the outdoor stuff. I could never imagine a useful time for a flip phone while wearing gloves or anything or the sort. I just climbed Mt Rainier and my galaxy s5 active was perfect. I want to ditch Samsung and go back to a Moto or nexus. I do agree and hope it's not a 5.9 size. I run ultra marathons and big phones do not fit anywhere, but I've found a 5" to he perfect for me.
