Nexus 6/Shamu by Motorola?

And maybe the Nexus 5 sticks around as the smaller phone.

I wonder if there is enough money in it for LG to continue some level of n5 production since it will inevitably be overshadowed by the n6/X that will not be produced by LG.

Wonder if Google will have a fire sale like they did with the nexus 4 when the 5 was about to be announced. Or you might want to check swappa if you don't mind buying a used phone. Can get one for under 300 bucks. We got my girlfriend the nexus 4 16 gig for $160 off that site, was in great condition, she loves it.

Thanks for the Swappa suggestion... browsing their site is much easier than trolling Ebay.

If there is a demand for the Nexus 5, LG will keep making it. However, the price may increase if Google decides to stop subsidizing it.

What makes you think it's being subsidized at all?

BOM for these high-end devices are usually $~200. The device is selling for $349 and $399 US isn't it? That's still $150 - $200 profit per device. No subsidizing required.

It's just the super high-end devices have large markups on them, so Google don't mind getting a lower cut of the profits on each device.

Yes, stereo. If you look at the leaked X+1 image, Shamu looks just like a stretched version of the black X+1. One of the X+1's speaker grills is fake, but they are stereo on the Moto Nexus.
Might be a long shot, but can your friend to send you some camera samples?

The BOM doesn't include labor and handling though. I have literally no idea how much that costs per device. I do think your point still stands though.

Right?

There are too few data points here, but the correlation so far is pretty strong.

I can't wait to carry my 26" phone to my room in the retirement community some day.

Dear god I hope not...certainly there is a market for the Note sized phones but I really do not think your average user wants that experience. I do think 4.7-5.3" of course bezel size dependent is the sweet spot for most people,

You'll still have that option. But no Nexus. Nexus is not for "most people". I have no interest in being a part of the unwashed masses.

There was some reporting done on the pricing of the Nexus 5 once carriers started offering it in the US for around $450 on a 16 GB model when Google sells the same phone for about $100 less in the Play store.

CNET -- Here's why T-Mobile's Nexus 5 is $100 more than at Google Play (article link here)

Excerpt: "The difference in pricing does suggest Google is offering a subsidy for the Nexus 5, giving customers who buy directly from Google a break on the device."

PC Mag -- Google's Nexus 5: Nobody Does it Cheaper (article link here)

Excerpt: "Just as it did with the Nexus 4, Google built a quiet subsidy into this Nexus phone that makes it hard to recommend almost any other unlocked Android phone."

Android Authority -- Is Google subsidizing the Nexus 5? T-Mobile seems to think so (article link here)

Excerpt: "After announcing that its Nexus 5 costs $100 more than what Google charges for the handset, T-Mobile said that it doesn’t make a profit on Nexus 5 sales, suggesting that Google is quietly subsidizing the device."

Android Central -- Ting now selling the Nexus 5, would still prefer if you bought from Google Play (article link here)

Excerpt: "As it explains on its official blog, even with selling the Nexus 5 at below cost, Ting just can't match the $349 unlocked price that Google is charging."

Hmm, didn't know LG put their markup on the devices. I assumed they made it and covered the costs and let Google sell it. Guess not.

I suppose they're in business to make money, so it's fair game.

Also we have now confirmed with our sources at SPRINT and BestBuy and posted images from unlisted pages from BestBuy confirming the same. And PhoneArena sources Separate from mine have now ALSO confirmed the same.
While digging when people cried FAKE I found another phone the MOTOROLA Luge launching this 28th in just 3 days!
One of many coming before christmas, I told people so......

So today is the 28th, and in most time zones is past the time when a phone would be announced. Did I just happen to not see an article written about it on any of the major tech sites?
