Nexus 6P Bending and Breaking Thread

Ok I don't see what's funny about people having issues with their phones weirdo.

What's funny is people overreacting to fud, and thinking it's what happens to everyone. 'Omg 1 person on reddit claims his glass spontaneously broke! This is such a widespread issue!'

First you have to believe this person at their word, which is hard to do now a days. From the looks of it, he just tossed it down on a counter, and obviously the visor part hit first, and it cracked, but yea it was spontaneous. Total, from what I have seen it is 3 people, maybe reporting this issue. That's not widespread.

Basically it's like saying OK 1 plane crashes so all planes crash, planes are having a widespread issue of crashing. Stop overreacting to things and do some g-damn research, people today just jump to conclusions without actually looking into anything.

Re: Who else thinks this cracking glass is a major issue

Not sure if this is a point of contention leading to breakage, when I cast a youtube video or photos to my tv, man that upper glass portion of the phone gets very warm!

Re: Back Camera Glass Cracking

And for those that say a case takes away from the looks, I didn't realize people went around showing off their phone like a prized piece of jewelry. If that's the case, there are certainly some very good looking cases out there for those who like to parade their phone around town like a trophy wife.

Well that is the thing .. You're looking at it from strictly that one side saying if they like the look it is because they want to show it off. That may not always be the case. Some may simply like the look / feel for themselves and not anyone else. There are times I didn't want a case because I simply enjoyed the phone for me. Honestly most people probably wouldn't even be able to "admire" my device because they wouldn't know what it is (6P).

That being said I will get a case for the 6P since it is slippery but I would like to continue using it naked simply because I like the look. I don't care if "Joe Six Pack" likes it or not. That is not why I buy phones... nor is it the reason I buy a case (or not). I buy things for me and what I like ;).

You people need to enjoy your phones and stop jumping on the panic train. Did you hear what I said? A guy mysteriously found his visor to be cracked, puts it on Reddit and now everyone is concerned? REALLY?

Put a case on your phone and call it a day! You have a small tiny fraction of people saying this not even 1%, and he admitted to not using a case. I love the mystery factor. Plus you have a few people in here trying to hype this up, like really with the bending thing, sorry use common sense and this won't happen. Yes I'm laughing at the fact that some people believe everything they hear on the internet. The M8 was used in the same stupid bending test a few years ago and it bent also, guess what? If you crash your motorcycle into a wall it will get screwed up, so the rule of thumb is not to crash it into a wall.

And the reports of people sitting down with their phones and they are getting bent? Really? Come on, the same thing went on with the iPhone 6 plus, guess what? I nor nobody else I know bent their iPhone 6 plus, why? Because we put a case on it and weren't dumb enough to try and bend it. Use common sense and you most likely won't run into a cracked visor, or bent phone. And yes I laugh at some of this internet trolling because I can't believe how some people buy into the hype, I've owned god knows how many phones and have seen my share of issues.

Like the space black iPhone 5 getting scratched, yes painted metal scratches, so I bought a silver one and rocked it for a year with no issues, again the iPhone 6 had reports of bending because someone bent one on the internet and if you walked into Apple you saw morons trying to bend the display models? It's ridiculous. The yellow hue screen could happen on any phone, but for someone to say that the manufacturer is aware and making changes is just ridiculous, yes they will recall thousands of phones because there is a wide spread issue with the Samsung made screens on the 6p? Yes and the tooth fairy will deliver them.

Sorry but you have to take a lot of things that sound very out of the ordinary with a grain of salt and sometimes exercise common sense. And like I said, we don't have enormous widespread reports of any of this stuff, so seriously maybe trying to enjoy this phone, and not trying to bend it, and examining the visor every day in different temperatures, and probably not throwing your charger around like a baseball will most likely equal your phone and its charger living a nice healthy life.

Re: Is the 6P really as fragile as they say on TWiT and CNET? (able to be broken with just one hand?

I hear that there is a guy who picks up the front of his car with one arm and picks his nose with the other hand.

I heard this on the internet therefore it's true. I think I may try it...Lol

Come on guys, exercise common sense and mods maybe take some of these threads down, its getting annoying and starting to sound ridiculous now.

If your phone is dysfunctional, damaged out of the box or defective - get a replacement. If you don't trust the OEM's ability to get you a good replacement, order a different phone.
