Nexus 6P Bluetooth Issues (With Car)

Omit what I posted it acted up again. :(

Disconnected, couldn't pair until I shut off my Murano and couldn't be heard where I had to call back.

This is getting ridiculous.

This happened to me on my 6s Plus the other day. I'm still staying away from the 6P for right now waiting to see if it gets fixed. But I don't think Bluetooth is perfect for any phone.

Re: Nexus 6P Bluetooth Issues

I am having problems with BMW 6 series. When I start the car it connects fine, after a few minutes either the connection is dropped, or I lose phone connectivity but audio keeps playing. Sometimes the audio drops or the podcast app crashes. I also have a moto 360 2015 connected at the same time, but not wearing the watch did not make a difference with my car. I have also tried pairing/repairing but the issues always return.

With my moto 360, I did notice dropped connections a couple of times, and once when the watch just stopped connecting and I had to factory reset it, but otherwise nothing major or as bad as my car.

I have read that the Nexus 6p had Bluetooth issues but I never expected them to be this bad or take this long to fix.

True.

I hope so too because I do love this phone!

FWIW, I wiped my cache Saturday morning and have had 0 issues since. My issues weren't too big prior but we'll see what happens.

I was having issues sporatically until the myford app updated. Now, I don't know what it's like to receive a call and not have the bluetooth disconnect.

Since the January update, I've had sporadic issues with my Mercedes. Sometimes it'll just completely disconnect and reconnect 30 seconds later. It'll be completely random too. So one trip I can have many problems in a 20 minute drive, on another trip, it'll be perfect for 20 minutes.

I seem to have more audio dropouts with BT headphones just walking around NYC than other phones too.

Re: Nexus 6P Bluetooth Issues

Same car and phone ... same problem .... hoping Feb update sorts out. Have switched to using chromecast audio for now so music doesn't keep dropping out thru the Aux port .. but calls still drop 50/50

2012 Porsche Cayenne with latest upgraded version of PCM. 6P will not stay connected via Bluetooth (when I can get it to connect at all). When I get it to work and place a call, I frequently (meaning almost every time) lose the Bluetooth connection. At first, I thought it was a problem with my particular 6P, so sent it back for a replacement. Same issues with the replacement, I'm afraid, and no difference that I can tell with 6.0.1. Really frustrating.

I got my nexus 6p today and the only major problem today has been Bluetooth. I have an aftermarket JVC head unit from 2012 with bluetooth and its not working well...

The music played fine through bluetooth but when I made a call the other side sounded muffled. Its like it gradually became harder to hear the other person as they continued talking. The first words they said came out fine and as they talked it literally become to muffled to understand.

I am not sure what it is but I have never had the problem even with the Nexus 5x or the Moto x pure edition or original nexus 6.

Agreed. After installing the February update, the phone linked to my car (Porsche Cayenne) without a problem. After a few minutes, the connection dropped. This stinks.

Security updates are not intended to fix bugs like this. Just security holes.
We need to wait for the next OS version release..6.0.2? 6.1?

When the h**l is that going to happen. This is a disaster. I cannot believe Google hasn't fixed this or allowed it to happen. How many Google/Android software developers drive these cars? How could this get past beta? This is probably the second most imporant feature in today's phones: hands free calling in a car. Unbelievable.

I'm more concerned that Google still hasn't fixed it.

Not trying to start something but Apple makes mistakes but is quickly enough to address fix the problem.

It seems the last time I thought I worked was because I restarted the phone accidentally, I don't really want to keep doing that.

Probably because Google phones don't have a lot of market share or enough media coverage compared to iPhones and Samsung. This would definitely be a disaster for an iPhone or Galaxy.

I really miss listening to podcasts. I'm considering leaving my old phone in the car and using a hotspot with my current one :(

i've got the same problem. connection just randomly drops and reconnects in my audi. i've also got a jabra bluetooth speaker and i can no longer control the volume and it is always on full max during a phone call.

this is really frustrating since it was working fine before one of these updates, i hope it gets fixed soon.

i had really bad gps problems with the nexus 5, and now bluetooth problems with the nexus 6p... it's things like these why i believe that the iphone is king on quality and reliability...

I'll get flamed for it, but it's things like this why I converted to iPhone in December. It's not nearly as fun as Android, but it works as intended 99.99% of the time.

I use my my old moto X as a music player since headphones don't work with my 6p 😩

I have problems with both of my Fords, one with Sync 3 and one with Sync2(??? the non touch screen 2014 one). Both will work 90% of the time and then that 10% it will disconnect and stutter and generally be crap. It's an Android thing, because it's happening everywhere.

So I don't know what happened, but it seems like the issue fixed itself somehow? I can't say I have done anything different. I'm afraid to restart my phone for any reason haha!
