Nexus 6P Bluetooth Issues (With Car)

I have tried the suggestions in this thread and nothing works. I can make and receive calls just not texts. I may call Google tomorrow and get this replaced.

I called Google today about my texting issue. They had me to a hard reset which I did no go. They have escalated it so hopefully there will be a fix soon.

2016 honda accord here and the phone only pairs for audio but not for phone calls. I have to disconnect and connect multiple times for phone pairing to work. I started having this issue after April update and it is frustrating like hell. Even on my LG headset, it will not pair right away, I have to turn bluetooth on and off multiple times to get it to pair. Did hard reset, worked for couple days and then got broken again.
Anyone here was successful in getting a phone replacement from google?

This is issue is destroying the enjoyment I was having with my Nexus 6P.

I just recently changed from a 2012 3 series to a 2014 5 series and initially I thought the issues were down to the car, since in my 3 series I never had BT issues. Now I'm lucky if I can make a couple of phone calls without having had to disconnect and mess around with the connection in some way. Bluetooth calling is invaluable to me and is making me consider whether to buy another phone.

Got a Nexus 6p few weeks back, connects to my 2016 Golf Everytime no problem...even Android auto works flawlessly

This is what bothers me about the Bluetooth issue, it seems so random. Some seem to have an issue though many don't. Some have been helped by the monthly updates, others haven't. And some have it work fine on one car but switch cars and start having issues. And, from what I can tell, some will even have a problem with a particular make/model of car but then it works perfectly for some other people with the same car. This must be a real nightmare for Google and Huawei to attempt to troubleshoot and solve since there just doesn't seem to be any real consistency with who has issues and who doesn't. I believe one person's Bluetooth worked great until he did a factory reset, and now it doesn't want to stay connected to the same car he had no issues with previously.

I'd even suspect it might be some type of "third party" issue, perhaps some app that interferes or a a particular group of settings -- except then we get people who seemingly don't change anything other than merely the Bluetooth device they are trying to connect to and start having issues.

I have Nexus 6P and have had a horrible experience with the Bluetooth car pairing.

Over several firmware version, the exact same issue (now same on v 6.0.1).

Kia Sportage 2013. I'm now in BMW 5 series 2015 and the exact same issue. Car will lose bluetooth connection with the phone, sometimes mid-call, which needs deleted and re-paired.

My colleague got the exact same phone at the same time as me. He has had a Kia Ceed 2013 model, and now changed to Kia Ceed 2016 model - but he has NO issues with this Bluetooth connectivity.

My theory is defective unit. :(

Since the June update my 2015 Toyota Highlander keeps disconnecting from my 6P. I deleted the phone from the Toyota and tried a new connect it's no better. I'm really fed up with these monthly updates, it does not seem to me they do a good job testing them.

I am having trouble as well in my 2016 Tacoma. Don't know it it's because I'm on the N beta or something else.

Strange, it works flawlessly with my 16 tacoma (offroad). However, unusable with headphones. So I don't know which I'd rather have at this point...

I sold my 6p because it paired with my 2013 Accord but texts never worked. I had a ticket in with Google I wiped everything. It is not an app or OS issue. I bought a Galaxy S7 and texts started working again. It is a phone issue. Oh well!!

I have a lot of money invested in my phone, car, and watch. Everything works flawlessly with any other phone. I've tried the cache clearing recommended on Google support site.

I have a 2016 Subaru Forester and I am having the same issue as everyone else with my 6P. Though it does connect, it loses connection frequently and then reconnects. At times it does not connect randomly though.

I did speak with Subaru and they said they did not see it as a supported phone in there directory. There was a new update for the 6P today, I am hoping this might change things.

Hi I am new to this forum .i have just got the phone straight out of the box and guess what Bluetooth problems straight away.so I downloaded all the updates and still no good.i then tried all the fixes and still no good ,so I then started my own investigations.eventually I looked up what the services did in developer mode.So please try this in the developer options, look for Bluetooth hci snoop log.disable this and it may fix your problems.its fixed mine.i re-enabled everything else and it's not stuttering with music so far...good look .....paul

Well. Interesting read, this thread. I just replaced my Samsung S3 (got lots of use out of that guy!) with a 6P. My S3 bluetooth worked flawlessly with my 2013 Nissan Xterra bluetooth unit. Unfortunately, the 6P does not work well. It does not lose the connection but it cuts in and out. One thing I've found that will fix the cutting in and out problem is to hold the phone up to my overhead console (which is where my bluetooth receiver is located). If I do this I get a solid connection with no cutting in and out anymore. Also have a sunglass holder up there and can just put the phone in the sunglass holder and it also works fine. Starts cutting in and out everytime I move it back down to my lap or in my hand or in my center console.
I'm thinking it's a range problem. I think I'll open up my bluetooth unit in the car and see if I can see what kind of antenna it has and if it is optimized (quarter wavelength and all that). Very unhappy that bluetooth is basically unusable in my car right now.

Great news on the S3 - I kept mine for 3 years (and still keep it as a media player).

It's sad that a device which should have a range of ~33 feet (Class 2 devices like mobile phones) can't even stay connected inside the cab of your car. I haven't had any issues with the two Bluetooth speakers that I commonly use, but don't even bother with it in my car.

I also have a bluetooth speaker and it stays connected to that 100% of the time - even if I bring the speaker into my car with me! I'm starting to believe it's a h/w design flaw with the bluetooth antenna in the 6P but if I can optimize the antenna in my Xterras bluetooth unit that might be the way to go. Not going to be able to do anything about the antenna in the phone.
