Nexus 6P Bluetooth Issues (With Car)

My 2013 Accord will not read texts. Calls are fine and I deleted and paired it again. There is no Honda update available.

I've found that it works fine if you boot into safe mode. Which gives Google a reason to say that it's an app doing this. But with this many people effected, you'd think they could find the app and inform the developer.

My 2014 Sport is having trouble. Callers hear silence for 2-5 seconds at a time, about every 10 seconds. Only happens with my 6P. I've tried it with daughters iphone 5c, son's iphone 6, wife's gs6, all work perfectly. Anyone have the same combo?

My Bluetooth issues have been resolved since March update. Would like to know if anyone also had the same results

I have 2014 F150 and I buy tons of phones for some reason the closer to stock Android I use the worse it is. Nexus 6p and Moto X pure don't always reconnect but my Note 5 and S6 always did.

I'm going to try to manually update my 6P tonight since I haven't got the March update yet. Last possible fix for me before putting the 6P on ebay. I just can't have failing bluetooth and broken conversations. My 6P has never been great with bluetooth, headset or car, so I'm hoping this March update helps as others have seen.

Re: Nexus 6P Bluetooth Issues

Same here. Since I got a Nexus 6P Bluetooth calls are a terrible plain in my 2015 BMW 428i Gran Coupe. Used to work fine on my Moto X 2nd Gen. Has to be Marshmallow. I have updated the phone and the car's firmware.

I posted this on the BMW forum, Bimmerpost:

"The bluetooth on my 428i Gran Coupe always worked fine until I got the new Nexus 6P phone with Android Marshmallow (v. 6.x). Despite updating the phone and the BMW's firmware, I still have calls drop off my Blueooth (they stay on the phone) and the just as randomly a few second later, pick up on Bluetooth in the car.

This is a problem because I can't hear the call and have to switch to speaker on the phone. Then it goes back to Bluetooth.

The call time on the car will start again at :00 when the call goes back to BT, but it will have been on the phone the whole time.

Also, I can dial using the car's phone/BT controls, but can't hang up with them.

This problem is being discussed a lot on Android forums. Does anyone have any advice? Has anyone taken it up with BMW?

It's gotten so bad, I unpaired my phone from my car and just use speakerphone. Sucks.

Streaming music works fine, so it's just the phone."

Anyone have any prayer that Google is addressing this? It basically destroys a major feature of the phone's functionality.

I own a 2015 M235i with the infotainment system. I was using a Microsoft 950XL that worked great. Since the daughter is a Googler I wanted to show allegiance and purchased a Nexus 6P 128GB. This phone pairs up but will not let texts come through Infotainment system among other issues. The 6P will stream music which is not a need for me due to full entertainment in the Beemer.

The latest firmware update has been applied to car before obtaining 6P so there are no issues with M. Is Google looking into this problem and providing a fix? It looks like I am headed back to 950XL since it works flawlessly. Maybe put 6P for sale on eBay in the meantime. Anyone else having this problem?

I still have the same texts in the car. Phone calls work fine but I do not receive texts. This is the only phone l have had an issue with. I am seriously considering selling it and getting an s7 if they don't fix it soon. I will give it a little more time.

Same problems with my 6P and M235i. Phone will connect and stream music but no go on text messages and incoming calls. Infotainment and phone show proper sync so this must be an Android issue. Infotainment has the latest firmware update so Google coders released a beta version on their flagship phone. Back to the 950XL that worked perfectly including Cortana. Sad QA at Google.

I'm done with this phone.

It's sad that Google still won't addressed this problem. I'm not upset, just disappointed! LOL

That's the worst part, is that it's random. It just disconnects, like today while I was on the road where I had to pull over and the worst part is I can't get it to pair. This is what frustrates me, is that I can't get it to connect again.

The next nexus comes out, I'll be thinking about twice before I upgrade.

Could this be a problem with defective units? Has anyone contacted Google or Huawei to see about exchanging for a new 6p? I'm asking because it does seem like a minority having these issues. I connect to Bluetooth speakers all over our house, my Bluetooth headphones for running, our two cars plus rental cars when I travel, and I've never had a single problem with BT on my 6p. No problems with music or phone calls and no mysterious disconnects. I've never tried to have text messages read over BT, so that's one issue I wouldn't be able to test.

Had to skip most of the thread but has the OP unpaired the phone AND deleted it from the radio's memory?
When I got my new 6p I had to get rid of the old one before it would function correctly.

Sad to see that you're still having issues. What phone are you moving to? Bluetooth has become invaluable to me, especially with laws in Illinois that you must talk on your phone via hands free. I've actually knocked the 6P off my list because I don't trust it to work. I'm still looking into the S7 edge, G5, or sticking with my 6s Plus (which works flawlessly with my Bluetooth in my 2013 Santa Fe).

All my contacts from my Nexus 6P will not download to my 2016 Mercedes E350, just a handful of them, otherwise Bluetooth works fine...any suggestions?

Do you have other Bluetooth devices paired in your Bluetooth list? What worked for me was deleting all pairings and only pairing with my car. I know this isn't a good solution, but at least I can use Bluetooth in the car now for listening to podcasts and making calls.

I will try to pair with my Android wear watch and see if the problem comes back. I have already received the March security update on this phone.

I have a Fitbit Charge HR and for laughs will do the same and see if it fixes the texting issues.

There's nothing paired to the 6P but my M235i. Instead of limping along I went back to my Microsoft 950XL that integrates with the infotainment system including receiving and sending texts. If Google sends out a fix before it's sold on eBay I might go back to the Nexus. In the meantime I'll stick with the tried and true 950XL.

I was ready to return this thing before the March update. BT seems to be just fine now. Connects to three different devices -my car, my plantronics headset and my speaker in the kitchen. It doesn't connect to my car 100% of the time but it's pretty close. No drops during streaming or chatting.

2013 Ford Fusion with Sync 2 with all latest firmware updates. Nexus 5X latest March updates 6.0.1. Won't connect. Keeps saying connection failed in car's Bluetooth. My Nexus 5 on marshmallow worked fine. Really bummed.
