Nexus 6P Bluetooth Issues (With Car)

Re: Nexus 6P Bluetooth Issues

Ford explorer owner here. I had bluetooth issue with my ford for years. Not particular any phones'
issue. Once in a while my bluetooth would just drop to this no phone support mode also. Best thing
you can do is to factory reset the puppy, or disconnect the battery for a while.

Last year, my cpu unit for the ford broke down. Swapped in a new one, haven't had problem since.

Hope it helps.

Woohoooo disconnected the battery and boom!! It works :)

Re: Nexus 6P Bluetooth Issues

Hmmm, I could have sworn I posted this after I got home - with my shiny new 6P - last night.

I have a 2008 BMW 3 Series with iDrive and, much to my very pleasant surprise, the phone connected with no problem, uploaded my contacts, and I experienced no interruptions or other quirks when making calls.

When I first got the phone I was at work and did not yet have a SIM card for it but, of course, wanted to play around a bit. So, I connected via WiFi and did some very initial set-up. The out-of-box update popped up and installed at that time, without incident. I saw that it referenced the "November Security Update", but I'm wondering if there might not have been a bluetooth patch in there, as well? I've seen people posting about there being various updates and OS builds floating around out there. Either that or the system in my old car is just too simplistic to have a problem. ;) Just a thought.

Oh, but I did not try streaming music through the iDrive system, as that has not worked on my last 2 phones due to archaic hardware and/or software in the car. But, I have a work around I've been using for that for the past several years, so that's not an issue for me.

Hope this maybe gives someone else one less thing to worry about.

Bluetooth and Nissan Connect App, 2015 Altima. Worked great with my N4 and works just as well with my N6P.

No issues with 3 different cars/stereos with both hands free and streaming audio.

14 BMX X3
and Alpine aftermarket car stereo(about 2 years old)

Re: Nexus 6P Bluetooth Issues

Can you get your 6P to work via USB with your myford touch? I cannot. I have a new 2015 Flex with sync myford touch. I get a "failed to connect" error when I try to connect the 6P via USB.

I was able to connect with bluetooth with zero problems.

2011 Ford Focus with Sync (no MFT). Also having issues getting media to play. I'm able to get phone calls through it, but whenever I try to connect for Play Music, nothing. Also, in Bluetooth settings, says "Connected (no media)." Going to look into any firmware updates for my car with my next oil change.

Re: Nexus 6P Bluetooth Issues

I have my 6P synced with my Toyota Highlander 2015, Panasonic cordless handsets, Moto S305 headset and an OontZ portable speaker. None of these devices are having issues.

I had exact same issue. The bluetooth works fine for podcasts and audio. It even works till the phone is connected as soon as you start talking the other party can't hear you. You can still hear them. If you transfer the call to phone, it will randomly switch back to car bluetooth. I tried repairing the phone but I guess this is Android 6.0 issue. I never had problem with Moto X.

2015 volkswagen GTI. I have pretty much the same issue. Streaming audio works fine. The 6P phone connection appears fine, but after a call is connected it eventually loses the bluetooth connection with the car. Usually after a minute or two. Sometimes it picks it back up in 20 seconds, sometimes it doesn't. Moto X 2014 and 2015 Pure edition connection worked fine.

I agree that this is likely a google update issue. Lets hope they get it fixed soon.

Mine is doing the same now. It just seemed to go to be true that it was working after a battery reset. I am rather confident that it is something to do with the software.

2016 Tacoma with no issues. Phone, music and text messages all come through without hitches.

You can update it yourself here: http://m.ford.com/technology/sync/

Add me to the list. It was working fine when I got the 6p. But now it just will not connect to my 2015 mustang with SYNC.

Phone calls and streaming music works fine in my '15 Mazda CX-5.

Only issue I noticed is that the music data (Google Play Music) isn't updating when the song changes. Pretty much stuck on showing the Artist, Song & Album Title of the first song that plays.

Over 4 hours of streaming on my Tundra with Entune. Slight delay in YouTube video and audio but that's it. Phone calls work and switching works just fine for me.
